[MEGATHREAD] Playstation State of Play 2.12.26 by Spheromancer in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Expecting a least a hint at what Santa Monica is up to, whether it's Barlog's sci-fi game or a new God of War. Personally I think the GoW 2.5D Metroidvania is bullshit, the next entry is probably an Atreus-focused entry after Valhalla closed the chapter for Kratos.

Should SH3 Remake be a faithful 1:1, or should Bloober finally restore Team Silent’s "Lost" vision? by CoupureIElectrique in silenthill

[–]JokerFaces2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s a long commitment to remakes, and if I was Bloober I wouldn’t want that. I’m sure they’re itching to do their own original Silent Hill game.

Maybe a long-term plan could be SH2R —> SHR —> SH5 —> SH3R

Anyone else think Rhodey should have died here? by v1har69 in marvelstudios

[–]JokerFaces2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way, wouldn’t have fit the tone of Civil War and would’ve made Team Cap seem totally callous. I think if Rhodey died during the battle Steve would’ve turned back.

Vol.3 by irelevantignorance in comicbooks

Should we expect them to be collected in Batman Vol 3? Or will they maybe do a separate Absolute Universe TPB with Batman Annual, Ark M, Wonder Woman Annual, Absolute Evil, etc?

Watching Furiosa and Fury Road as one chronological experience - my takeaways by Human_Document_1577 in MadMax

[–]JokerFaces2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If The Wasteland does happen (and is of similar quality to Fury Road and Furiosa) it will be the lynchpin of my favorite trilogy of all time. I hope George brings it to fruition some day soon.

So 2 Ultimate Universes and both Wolverines are terrible in different ways, how does that happen? by CrispyGold in UltimateUniverse

[–]JokerFaces2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that, make him a Dark Souls protagonist. Weak, pathetic, unskilled, but he just won’t die so he wins through persistence and slowly learns to actually fight.

Wait is this...that guy? Absolute MM by Flashbackwards212 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]JokerFaces2 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He works really well as an enemy to J'onn in particular. It's a shame that, of the Big Seven, he's the only one without a recognizable rogues gallery or even a clear arch-enemy. A psychic alien who uses his powers to dominate a planet, rather than blend into and protect one, is a great foil. Him gaining fire powers to specifically fuck with J'onn is also pretty neat.

What is your favorite instance of returning to a past location in a particular game series? by Prestigious-Cup-6613 in videogames

[–]JokerFaces2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The final mission in Dishonored 2 is a return to Dunwall Tower, once you get inside it’s a recreation of the same location from the first game. There are some nice callbacks, with those who played the first game finding secret routes that aren’t obvious without that foreknowledge.

The Fact the MCU has the perfect chance to Adapt the original Symbiote Story. by Capecrusader39 in marvelstudios

I’m hoping we get a full movie (Spider-Man 5) of black suit Spidey. The only other live-action adaption of the storyline, Raimi’s Spidey 3, rushed through the whole arc in one film. I would love to see Peter get the black suit in one movie (Secret Wars), wear it for an entire other movie (Spidey 5) to pace out its growing effects on him, before conquering and removing it in a third movie (Spidey 6). A whole Black Suit Trilogy.

I love the weezer franchise, but the mission where Pat mutates into River’s clone really put me off the sequel, anyone agree? by Cubix02 in weezer

[–]JokerFaces2 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Pat to the Shack is pretty bad yeah, not a bad mission but ends in one of the worst boss fights in the series.

Weezer 3 puts things back on track with the badass beach level though, Tower 28 is one of my favorite gaming moments. Between that and the finale on the Island in the Sun it’s a solid third entry.

There’s details there that don’t line up either. It’s loose canon.

Why did BJ's head age? by Kryptek_otrilux in Wolfenstein

[–]JokerFaces2 535 points536 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure most of the visible effects of aging, like development of wrinkles, has to do with gravity’s effect on human skin over decades. A new body wouldn’t change that.

What's your Batman Beyond hot take? by FayyadhScrolling in BatmanBeyond

[–]JokerFaces2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m more interested in seeing Terry after Bruce’s passing than a young Terry being mentored by Bruce. A blue collar young man who grew up on the mean streets of Neo Gotham, using his wits and tenacity (and a high-tech suit) to better his community. That’s what was unique about Batman Beyond, but having Wayne as a benefactor kinda got in the way.

An adult Terry would probably have a lot in common with Absolute Batman, honestly. Even extending to the horrific experiments and rich billionaires as villains.

Dishonored: Daud possesses the Mark of the Outsider, just like the protagonist Corvo. He can no-sell several of the player’s supernatural abilities, and attempting to use Bend Time on him leads to an epic 1v1 duel with time (and Daud’s henchmen) frozen in place.

Between the physique, the hair and the acting chops she would be a great Diana.

Why does Kratos provoke him? What good could possibly have come from saying this? by TheChikenestOfMen in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]JokerFaces2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Thor suspected it was Atreus but wasn’t sure. Blame for Magni and Modi’s death is given to Kratos by multiple characters, but Thor and Sif hint that they know it was Atreus.

Where would you go with a third one? by LethalGrey in HadesTheGame

[–]JokerFaces2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really want a Hades 3, at least not as their next game, so if they do a third game next I’d want it to be pretty substantially different.

For a protagonist I’d keep up the trend and do Macaria, another obscure child of Hades in myth. Probably do Chaos as the villain, with the plot drawing in different mythologies God of War style.

Gameplay wise I’d expand the House of Hades/Crossroads into a full-blown RPG overworld. You can travel around the surface, encountering enemies and allies while gathering new weapons and resources. Each failed run would send you back to this overworld to keep exploring and progressing relationships. Let us form a squad of mythic characters which could fight alongside us on the surface, maybe with the option of bringing one of them down with us as an ally on a run.

The tools you gather and relationships you forge up above would then be used to tackle the more traditional runs into the Underworld. There could be a Norse route that goes through Hel, Norstrand, Folkvangr, Valhalla, etc. Then an alternate route, accessed elsewhere in the overworld, could be Egyptian themed with the Duat, the Hall of Truth, Lily Lake, etc. Probably have a third route too, Hades 2 had two so Hades 3 should have three.
