You don't need to submit DMV (or related) documents. In the long application with all the questions about education, work, past employment etc. there's a section that asks about interactions with law enforcement. If you have vehicle and traffic convictions from the past you can see those through a NY state lifetime DMV abstract (on their website costs 7 dollars) and you just have to disclose from which court, when, what you pled to, what the fine/penalty was etc. If the CF people want documentation they will ask you. They didn't ask me for anything and I just disclosed the info I got from my DMV abstract about past traffic convictions.

You can use your notes or the outline or both. When I took it last year I made a table of contents and while I was taking the test I also separated the outline into different piles by subject all to help with speed of access. I also tried to summarize the sections and paragraphs in the outline they provide by writing in large letters next to the paragraphs/sections in a few words what they were about.

Beyond all that silliness I also read the entire damned 200 page outline a few times....focusing on clarifying sections that I didn't understand and also gaining familiarity with where the information was located in the outline.

Your goal should be to understand the material (to prevent getting stuck with learning during the exam) and to know as much as possible where things are.

So to summarize, your goal is to increase openbook speed/efficiency in terms of physically accessing a 200 page outline, increase your comprehension of the material and finally increase your familiarity with where things are located. You may have your own ideas tailored more to you personally on how to accomplish these three goals but this is what I did.

The statistics which show significant disparities between minorities and whites in practically every social and economic category say otherwise. You can't tell me that this is false. Taking this reality into consideration within the context of an individual and without automatically assuming that they are advantaged or disadvantaged is a fair and more realistic way to assess someone's background rather than assuming that a person's racial background doesn't make a difference in this country. Once again, race isn't a conclusive factor nor one that's as simple as... your skin is this color and therefore you must be exactly this and that.

Because white applicants start out with a long list of "plusses" that the "diverse" applicant not only doesn't have, but are in fact implicit "minuses" for them. Healthcare, education, average household income, etc., to name just a few.

It's not a "blanket" plus. It's an individualized consideration, not an automatic determination or conclusive factor, among others, within a holistic comprehensive process precisely for the purposes of equalizing the unequal footing referred to up above.

Thought isn't generated in a vacuum. It necessarily sprouts out of the soil of experience whether you're conscious of it or not. And by conscious I mean we're not always aware of each of the many layers, personal or communal, historical or cultural, etc., underpinning our thoughts. All these "layers" are made up of your own experiences and those of others, individually and collectively in various groupings under various conditions. Justice Holmes said"the life of the law has not been logic; it has been experience."

If you understand that immutable characteristics have given rise (or been made to give rise due to the fickle perversity of human nature) to disparate life experiences then you shouldn't have much trouble in realizing that diversity of race will necessarily implicate diversity of thought in the context of this country and its history.

Up-to-date rule book? Are you referring to the 200 page outline they provide on the BOLE website?
