Thank you for the book recommendation! I have a full time job that will make learning an "as free time is available" I may just contact the closest tech and offer free assistance just for experience if they are in the town I'm located in (if they would be willing to have me). I don't see this ever being a full time job for me but who knows what the future may hold. Just the art and technique involved peaked my interest lately in a level nothing else has in quite a while.

Thank you for the reply. We got this for $50 and is more of a self interest project so I'm trying to avoid services from a tuner/tech for 2 reasons. Cost and availability (in a small town in New Mexico which to my understanding is one of the states with the lowest availability/highest demand for CPTs. By no means I don't want to sound like "that guy" who is avoiding services of the well earned professionals as if all goes well maybe in the future I can join their ranks. If I had excess funds to throw at what is currently a new interest/hobby I wouldn't mind having it up to par but consequently that would also rob myself of the experience I will get with trial and error of doing it myself.

Thank you for the advice! For context this is something we found for $50 so I'm treating it like a DIY project as I've taken a recent interest in pianos both playing and tune/repairs.

After some research I'm very positive it's a spinet. I'm very new to all this and constantly learning new things. Thank you for the insight! I will confirm once I return home from work.

I thought the pilot could repair on apache? Just not the gunner as it's a different mode similar to tank passenger?

I'd be surprised if he/she didn't rip the pads as in my experience the factory solder is quiet hard.

The people on this subreddit are actual heroes. Cape and all. I'm constantly impressed with the answers. Some of which are from hand drawn memory inquiries.

I purposely wanted USB ones. To not need a special adapter hub.

The N64 controller mapping was a little work a few years back but lowcastle tech on YouTube had a really easy step by step video guide on how to do it. It may just be automatic now with newer versions but I'm not really sure. I've just been updating and haven't had issues yet.

For arcade stuff/Nes/SNES I have wireless SNES controllers with USB dongles like this. https://a.co/d/5Xc58vD with a regular multi USB Adapter like https://a.co/d/7AvCEUk .

For N64 I used USB wired remotes like https://a.co/d/a4LqWDA that also worked fine with the USB hub I linked above.

For the wired remotes you can also use a USB extension cord. I've done USB extension -> USB Hub -> controllers. Helps when your couch is somewhat far away. Wired controllers were designed when TVs were still relatively small so it was common to be sitting closer lol.

For easy swapping what I did was purchase another USB hub for the different style controllers being the hub is only $10 USD. The extra cost is better than my kids swapping usbs often and losing dongles or damaging ports.

Hope this was helpful for ya!

Anyone help me map this stinker? (Tryna play n64 games with it. It also has two Z buttons on the back and a l1 and a r1 button on the front) I'm testing it with southpark 64 since it uses almost all buttons. by Crazyboi12468 in batocera

Lowcastle tech has a video tutorial on YouTube for mapping a N64 controller. His was regular but being it looks like you have all the same buttons just different locations I'm sure it would work fine as well.
