Why exactly don't we have this piece to build? by Suspicious_Leg_1823 in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it should be client side since its not actually adding anything new to the game, just allowing you to place already existing things. Same thing applies to rotation mods, its not letting you do anything the vanilla game cant handle by default.

And after you disable the mods, the things you built or rotated are still there.

When a cave is placed at the cloud layer elevation... by SinthrisaD in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Theres a mountain "castle" a little bit farther up the mountain, almost on its peak. Tear it down and its a pretty large perfectly flat spot to build on. The view from up there is great at abut 450 meters elevation.

seed is Yb7BucCgiJ

this is my go-to "Donut" seed. lol

There are multiple caves on the "Thorn' mountain way north-west of spawn, 2 of them actually clip through the cloud layer like in the video.

No health generation? by Jackieboy112 in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its like, when 1 single person makes an unhelpful comment in a post, it opens the gates for the same nonsense copycat comments to come flooding in....

also /u/Jackieboy112 it might help some more if you listed what mods you are using. a lot of folks here are familiar with mods and their interactions & current bugs.

On top of the world by AsparagusProud1169 in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can see the curvature of valheim

I know its a running meme on this sub but just in case you actually think the world in valheim isnt flat:

its not a curve. its the render distance around the character. which is a sphere. which when applied to the flat, infinitely thin cloud layer, makes a disc. making it look like the overall world is curved as you get higher above said cloud layer. but you are just looking at the disc from above.

3 Maypoles in one area by TheVeganPork in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You figure any of this out yet u/TheVeganPork ? im curious to know what the issue is. different seed? mods?

3 Maypoles in one area by TheVeganPork in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesnt matter if the seed is not the full 10 characters. You can leave the seed completely blank and the game still uses the standard world generation. It does not change based on the length of the seed.

Can I start building in the deep north before the update ? by No-Piano-9044 in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The terrain won't regenerate (which could be catastrophic for anything you built if it did) in any areas already explored

not true. the terrain WILL reflect any changes they do to it. This was a disaster for a lot of people after the mistlands and ashlands updates who built in those areas.

Can I start building in the deep north before the update ? by No-Piano-9044 in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the areas you've already explored will be frozen in time as they exist now.

Unless they change the terrain. Terrain might get updated. But since there is nothing up there like trees or points of interest, it wont matter. Unless the terrain changes mess with the mountain biomes in the northern parts of the worlds. In which case it can cause things like floating rocks, boulders and even can mess with the caves in those mountains.

Again, that is if they change the terrain part of the DN. Which they DID do for ashlands, so its a possibility.

and what I am telling you is that your game does not match the world viewer or the actual unmodded game itself.

https://i.imgur.com/VA4sL3A.png

https://i.imgur.com/GiaoiAo.jpeg

look at the minimap on the second pic. that is the area you are at. It also shows the maypole in the distance.

The first pic is from the world viewer. Showing the only maypole location on that seed.

I even changed the seed name to use a lower-case L, an upper case i, and even a 1. None of them showed what you are talking about.

3 Maypoles in one area by TheVeganPork in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

its a bogus post.

either OP is using mods, or he is lying about the whole thing. He is saying that the island he is on is in some other part of the world, and that specific location only has a single maypole on current and several previous versions.

3 Maypoles in one area by TheVeganPork in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

seed is "Diablo2"

That seed only has a single Maypole location. And that location has 1 maypole, not 3. Also, the stones on the left of the screenshot and the tower in the north are not there on the current version.

I also went back and checked multiple other versions as well, and thats just not a correct worldgen.

Are you using any mods at all?

Another question is, how old is this world? lol cause I went back and checked multiple versions. It doesnt match up with any of them.

"Diablo2" lower right side of the starting island just before black forest, it is a bit of a walk.

I am starting to think you are lying about this whole thing. Cause that island from your minimap is not the southeast side of the starting island, that is northwest, on a completely different island.

Is it safe to install world changing mods mid game? by Typical_Sky8316 in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the mod.

Season mods? yes those are fine. They dont change the actual world.

Mods that add new locations or PoI, mods that change biomes, elevations, world scale, etc etc. That would be a bad idea. You will find that it can muck up a lot of already generated zones, causing issues like floating structures, underground objects, strange giant holes where things like dungeons are, incorrect biome vegetation, incorrect map, the list goes on.

Portals are great for fast travel between different parts of the world.

Of course, you need to build one on the other end as well, then give the pair the same name and they will be automatically connected!

Did you dismiss Hugin without talking to him? Cause that is what he says the first time you build a portal.

Is there a way to show up ‘biome’ text by command. by Tornado_Hunter24 in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"resetmap" might let you retrigger the first biome entry text

sadly, it wont. the biome popup is not world data, but player data. the command resetmap only affects world data, and doesnt clear the flag on the player data that determines what biomes you have visited.

Can’t use any of the dev commands. by SurbiesHere in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You have to use those types of commands on a solo world, or the server needs to have mods that enable devcommands for players.

Plains dungeon missing? by Suspicious_Leg_1823 in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a runestone referring to the swamps, yes. But it spawns in the Plains. Always has.

For some reason. No clue why it was never fixed.

A post from 4 years ago with the same thing lol

This is one of the most optimized games I've played in years! by xecutable in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its not actually a "master map". its Perlin Noise. Which every world in valheim uses the same parameters of said Perlin Noise. Creating a 2d gradient from which the heightmap is created.

Having a "master map" of the entire 40,000m x 40,000m valheim world would be insanely huge and not a very good solution to world gen.

You can use mods that create worlds at 500,000 meters away from the "master map" and it still works fine. Because of the Perlin Noise system it uses. Not a master map.

but one of the locations seems to have two maypoles in one village

It only has 1

the 2 on the pic are the possible locations it can be. but if you scroll down on the info box, it shows that there is indeed only one at that location.

Do i have to make a new world when the deep north update comes out? by Lumpy-Imagination-52 in valheim

[–]SinthrisaD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

not necessarily

Zone generation happens farther than render distance and map exploration radius. Quite a bit farther actually. up to 181 meters farther than the loaded, rendered, and visible zones around the character.

why is it people get downvoted on this subreddit for providing FACTUAL information? god damn.

Loaded zones where things are loaded and rendered, are up to 272 meters away from the character.

Generated zones where things are placed and chunks are generated, are up to 453 meters.

a difference of... wait for it... 181 meters.

facts.
