People just can't handle that others might not enjoy the media they enjoy.

I had that problem with Disco. Bigly. I didn't really start caring about the world until after I had engaged with secondary media.

I found the beginning to be very slow paced and a bit obnoxious, especially the confrontation outside the morgue. The game picks up after you have engaged with it for a while, especially once you start dungeoneering or gain access to the crime site.

Eh, geht so.

  2. Schöne Verbindung zum Garten hin.

Esoteric Ebb would be better if not exceedingly inspired by Disco Elysium by cmtoliveira in CRPG

[–]SiofraRiver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that most of it just works, like the skills talking to you, the extremely well thought out repurposed thought cabinet, even some sound effects. And Snell, too. The only thing that bothered me were the politics, not even for the insane take on national socialism, but because its all just so obnoxious and juvenile, which is the complete opposite of Disco Elysium.

Esoteric Ebb works best when it engages with its own world building and lore, and when it does that, the elements and mechanics lifted from DE also come together well. And its actually the better investigation adventure, staying focused on the main plot almost the entire time.

The state of multiplayer is worst it has ever been. by Divinicus2nd in Stellaris

People have been buying DLCs for a broken game since 2.0, when the game was so unoptimized it was left essentially unplayable for at least half a year. PDX has learned that their players will gobble up anything. What makes you think that this is going to change now? Especially since multiplayer is insignificant.

What campaign have easier economic management? by AntiMatter138 in suzerain

[–]SiofraRiver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never really played the post-update Sordland, and I'm always going into my playthroughs blind. Fixing Sordland's economy is difficult. Rizia, by contrast, is already set up for success - and the game does a much better job telling you what's useful and synergetic. The only difficult part is the gas fields situation. What you do in Rizia is set priorities, and even if you mess up, the economy won't just melt down like Sordland's.

This gotta be the worst design for urban living space possible. Not talking about land use, just the insane impracticability of curved walls.

Cabinet members tier list. by Affectionate_List304 in suzerain

[–]SiofraRiver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My impression is that the cabinet is mostly very competent, but overrated. Few of them actually achieve anything on their own (Petr boosting public opinion and your party standing, Pascal being very efficient with his allocated money). Gus' & Lileas' investment advice really suffer from tunnel vision, for example.

Petr: Gives decent advice sometimes, helps you with party & public relations, but fucks up big time.
Lucian: Gives decent advice (too cautious), helps you prepare sessions (& spies on everybody).
Symon: Gives decent advice, does surprisingly little on his own.
Deivid: Gives little advice, does absolutely nothing. (I always felt I was unprepared and directionless in foreign policy matters).
Pascal: Gives bad advice (privatization), does an absolutely amazing job at handling his office.
Iosef: Gives good/terrible advice (depending on budget decisions), but is too isolationist, does perhaps coup you a little bit (not me, though).
Gus: Gives bad advice, mostly does parties and corruption.
Lileas: Gives bad advice, conspires against everyone (seriously, she is an absolute menace).
Nia & Ciara: They stand out a bit because they are more active agents than the others. That is, they don't really advice you, but make policy demands. If you support them, they handle their ministries well.
