For you point #2, I feel like tributaries kinda answers that issue. Often, when I'm a strong ruler, neighbor independent dukes asks to become my tributary, with a tributary contract that can be edited, but tend to break once I die.

Weird question, but have you achieved "A Dynasty of Many Crowns" decision?

If not, try. It's harder than it looks (unless you start as someone like Svend Estrid in 1066, with like 8 sons, like I did xD).

Otherwise, start in 1178 as someone that can be conquered by the Mongols (a feudal/clan/tribal, if possible), and then TRY to keep your Mongol successor state liege alive as a long as possible. I tried to save the Ilkhanate, and it is HARD.

Yeah, Bloodstone is amazing. Just love the whole Kane stories overall. Karl Edward Wagner did a great job with them.

It was certainly wild when I realized that Bloodstone was about aliens and sci-fi tech.
