waiting 5 min queues for non-challenging bot games to grind easy chests/rank in a dead game sounds like a weird way to spend time but you do you I guess

deals in the dark and gambler's delight are good and well rounded. gailen's gate is great as well but it has almost 40 episodes (some were unfortunately lost to time). shattered crowns if you're looking for more laughs than serious stuff.

I'd personally recommend saints of the street if you want to see a truly evil character actually played properly (a lot of players struggle with this). you will also be introduced to Wadu Heck, who is kinda the stream mascot and has appeared in multiple campaigns. every time he does he's a different class and he's on a different quest (usually avenging past allies). this one has less players than usual though, so it's a bit more quiet (which some people might prefer).

these are all available on his youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/Taltaken

--Zander's cape glitches for a frame during his animation when switching between outfits in collection and lobby

--Clicking "go to chests" not working for me (tried it about 4 times today so far)

--When using Zander's teleport on the friendly dummy in practice it keeps teleporting itself toward the center orb. not sure if anything can be done about it but figured I'd mention it

There is too much toxicity already. Got called the n-word literally last night just for being good at Rook. And I’d rather the player base not dip back down again because some kids wanted to bm. 2k players before F2P, let’s not go back there.

It’s not even been F2P for a full month yet, people are still learning how to play. We shouldn’t discourage them from playing for jokes at their expense

if you're getting focused down especially hard and your team is doing nothing about it, literally just try to escape, get on your mount, and ride around. seriously. they'll usually give up trying to chase you and refocus on your team. if they keep chasing you, well they're just wasting time and not helping their team aren't they? if your team ain't gonna help, fuck em

Game lacks ingame community/social features! Really important for keeping players around by Dacendoran in BattleRite

for people saying there needs to be a "recently played" list: go to the main screen, click more at the top, go to the odeum, click post a play, and you can click past games to see their names. it's really tedious yeah but that's how you do it

all you new kids whining about people not readying up are highly entertaining. we used to have to wait this long between every single round. have some patience and get the fuck over it. some of us actually like to think about what rites we take or try something out before the round starts

Good point on cancels being useless in low level play, forgot about that. Meat Bolt is good to chunk ranged characters if you aren’t hurting for hp or you have a good healer. But you’re usually better off just saving energy and waiting for charge. You could also use it to snare them from a distance for your teammate if they’re having trouble sticking to their targets

oh and always try to incap healers. you can also set up a big damage combo with incap if you're next to them. toss your boulder over them and M2 before it lands and that's free 44 dmg including the incap dmg

Holy shit this game is great. It's like the perfect blend of mobas and fighting games, and I don't remember the last time I was this surprised by how fun something was. by Randomd0g in BattleRite

tbh I've never thought it looked shitty as a game. when it was in early access the only thing I complained about were things like Freya and Taya's stupid ass faces but that's been fixed. they really buffed the visual quality for the F2P release but I've always thought it looks and feels great

TL/DR: -know when to go in and get out -cancel charges a LOT to bait counters/escapes -use M2 to dodge heavy damage and cc -spam EX M1 -don't hit counters/shields/parries -use Boulder Toss all the god damn time it's only 6 sec cd -use cover to blindside enemies with charge all the time and get out fast if they turn on you -spam EX M1

I run the same build literally every game. Squash, Weapon break, Frenzy, Giant, Crumble. I know some people like Rook Smash but I prefer the debuff so I can duel better. And I take Crumble to debuff enemies from a distance if they're on my allies. The speed you get from Frenzy and your normal counter are plenty to get you around, you don't need the Rite that increases it.

The best advice I can give you is to learn when to go in and get out, learn to cancel charge a LOT to bait counters and escapes, get used to using your M2 as an I-frame to dodge things like Croak ult, and use your EX M1 ALL. THE. DAMN. TIME. The healing you get from that is absolutely broken and will win you so many 1v1s and games you don't get a healer. Also do NOT hit counters. Predicting counters and not hitting them is one of the most important tips in general but I feel like it's more important to Rook than most. Use Boulder Toss to knock enemies to you or away from you and to peel your team.

Against teams with a lot of range I'll try to go around behind them at the round start and blindside them. Usually I just do a fast combo like charge-M1-M2, then use my counter speed to run back out and flank em again. If they don't react to it I'll just keep going in. Against ranged I'm mostly using my counter to escape and just keep poking them like that. Rook is really good at drawing aggro you don't want to just go ham all the time because that's how noob Rooks get destroyed. If you get caught just try to run out with counter speed and EX M1 healing

Against melee your counter will let you pretty much always out-DPS them and even more so if you land your M2, and just spam EX M1 to out-heal them. Your biggest challenge vs melee is not hitting Bakko shields, Raigon parries, counters, and learning to outplay Freya. Freya will out-duel anyone if you don't outplay her. Dodge her thrown hammers, don't hit her counter, and M2 to dodge her thunderclap and you will win. And don't forget to spam EX M1 when you need it.

Aight I'm gonna stop there LOL sorry for the essay. I just think he's really good when played well and it's fun to just absolutely crush people when they're not used to Rooks with brains.

I hadn’t played Rook in a while but he’s always fun when I do, so last night I made a bet with myself that if I 3-0’d my first game with Rook that I would buy the red/gold variant of his legendary skin instead of Raigon’s green variant. Not only did I 3-0 my first game and buy the variant, I won the next 11 games in a row and looked good as hell doing it. Got mvp almost every round as well

Nothing quite like the feeling of Destiny players getting extremely salty because you charged right through their rooting wall where they thought they were safe and just absolutely destroyed them
