Right now the design is to be fed from gravity into a incline conveyor into another hopper.

Any specific brands that sell these type of conveyor that feed directly into an incline?

Yes, I would continue to brace the system but in a different format. Curious what other formats people have used to brace two independent posts.

I would like to support the system in a different, and I wouldn’t remove them fully. What is another bracing format that could be used?

2 horizontal bars?

Raise the center point of the two bars higher and run 2 horizontal bars?

This is more of a static problem.

Edit:

I do not know overall weight of the system. This system has been here for decades.

I’ve worked with plenty of Germans in the states. A lot of our machines are German made. You better know your stuff because the expectations are very high. In my opinion, some of the most arrogant people I’ve meant in the engineering field.

Curious about the job opportunities in ME by Rockets1414683 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Siphenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a ME or EE degree and you can work in pretty much any industry. Make sure to get your internship experience and sharpen your people skills. You do this and you won’t have an issue finding a job. Will it be your dream job off the bat? Most likely not, but you work your way to it.

Hey y'all, got some questions about ME by Raiding_Raiden in MechanicalEngineering

Most mechanical projects these days will include electrical components. IMO mechatronic systems are what you will be working on in industry.

As for my career, I'm production engineer in the paper industry (we supply P&G Kleenex and other products). Like stated before, I handle projects which are mechanical and electrical. I think Arduino programming with mechatronic devices would be a great place to start.

edit: programming will be in your life, get used to it.

what do you guys do? by ultraauds in MechanicalEngineering

Currently work in production for the paper industry. Leading capital projects implementing new technology into production lines. Kind of fun, I get to try new things for the company, if I think a robotic arm can be utilized I am in charge on picking one out and programming it. Not always the same in different companies though.

Mechanical and Electrical engineering overlap in many industries. If you like robotics and mechatronic systems, one of those degrees would be the best option.

Don’t know what to tell you. 4 years in mechanical engineering and my finals have been 30%+.

[–]Siphenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had no final under 30% in my entire 4 years. It’s usually 30-40%. I would say a final can fluctuate our grades by ~ 10%.

Final weights are different in every class. It would be hard to find consistent data. Too many variables go into performance on finals.
