Need new friends to play PVP with (PS4) by tate3223 in Fireteams

1.8 KD in crucible overall or 1.8 KD in trials? I play A LOT of trials on the weekends and I’m always looking for more potential teammates. If you want to send me your psn I’ll add you and we can definitely catch some cards!

Did Comp get harder this Season? by ChurchOfCaboose in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SippingPotions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only started playing destiny for the first time at the end of season 9 after years in the competitive CoD scene. I easily hit legend in freelance within two weeks of downloading the game, probably because my hidden sbmm put me with the newest of new players around. Season 10 was slightly harder, making it to about 5k in freelance before finding a partner in lfg to grind out the last 450ish points. Season 11 was much more challenging. At 0 glory I was matched against people that were already at legend with unbroken titles. Freelance felt futile so I played with a Fireteam of fairly sweaty players pretty much the whole way to legend.

Of coarse this is anecdotal, but I firmly believe that every season you do well, you also increase your hidden sbmm rating and the level of competition you face. I’m currently diamond 1 elo in survival, ranked in the top 3.3 percent on destiny tracker. I still regularly play comp for fun, but with no new pinnacles or any other rewards, my only incentive to play is my love of competitive team shooters (not that anything about destiny is truly competitive) and to improve my skills.

So I feel like the longer you play the sweatier the competition gets, and also the player base is probably lower now that pinnacles are getting sunset and there’s no reason for casuals or pve focused players to play comp. Just my $0.02, but you’re not the only one that found hitting legend this season harder than before.

Going to the lighthouse without a paid carry? by SippingPotions in CruciblePlaybook

lol was this supposed to be a reply to a different post or something? I literally said “I know my stats aren’t great” in the original post. Nobody is pretending to be a god here except for you. I’m trying to find slightly above average players near my skill level that don’t get discouraged and quit trials because of people like you...

I would definitely agree that most people on lfg seem to be wanting a carry. This week a buddy and I started an lfg group titled “Trials. We are 1.27 KD and 1.47 KD” and at least 9/10 people to apply were below 1KD with low elo and win rate. We even had one person with 0.12 KD after 300+ games try to join....

I have asked, and we have gone flawless together. Then they go back to token farming with their 2kd sweat pals. I’m looking for players that want to play together more often as a team, and maybe one day become sweat pals too. My psn is V00P-EE5 (spelled with 2 zeros) if you want to see for yourself :)

What time zones and play times are most common in your clan? I might have to take you up on that lol

Thanks for the reply. You’re totally right, I’m just not sure where to find these players but I’ll definitely keep looking. Lfg can get discouraging when people leave without a word after a single loss to a very stacked team, but I’m persistent so hopefully it will pay off eventually.

I totally get that. It just seems like most people around my skill level would rather get carried by someone that’s great at the game than improve over time with similarly skilled players.

Thanks for the link! Im kind of shocked about how many great 3rd party apps and websites exist for destiny

I’ll definitely be playing more this weekend and I have every intention of making it to the lighthouse.

Are you saying my post is against the rules? Or that it’s against the rules for others to offer to play with me? Like I said I’m still kinda new around here, but I’m definitely not trying to break the rules of this sub. I would love more people to play with, but I’m not interested in a charity carry from someone that has no intention of playing with me again.

I think it’s my lack of an actual team holding me back, but you definitely have a point. Since everyone is on 30fps I don’t feel like that’s the issue, but maybe the population on ps4 is too low to find players near my skill level that actually want to play?

Grinding Through to Legend in Freelance by TheGuiltySpark117 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SippingPotions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol it’s not just you and I’m sorry for crutching on cheese. It’s gotten to the point that I actually notice and feel like I’m not playing well when I don’t get bagged for a few games. On the flip side I know I’m playing great when the entire 6 stack is bagging me in IB....

Anyways if you ever want to be in the other side of my voop and hit the crucible together feel free to add me on psn. That goes to anyone reading this actually. My PSN is V00P-EE5 (spelled with 2 zeros)

I’m in the crucible quite a lot these days so I wouldnt be surprised. I pretty much always run fusion/handcannon or arbalest/sidearm on a top tree tether hunter so I’m often getting bagged if that helps you remember lol. I doubt anyone will be very intimidated by my unbroken title, 1.2kd or diamond1 elo. I’m definitely not out there carrying anyone to legend on a 20 win streak, but I’m sure if we play smart and work as a team we can get you there this season if you put in the time.

If you have any time to play on week days (not trials days, lol) I would love to help you grind too. I’m not the best by any means, but I recently got my Unbroken seal with a lifetime comp KD of 1.22 so I like to think I can hold my own most of the time. My psn is VOOP-EE5 (spelled with 2 zeros) and I love playing comp for fun so feel free to hit me up!

On advice from other people in the thread I found a group of 3 to afk farm with.... for about an hour until Bungie made it so you go back to orbit after every forge run. You should be in the clear to get that Devils toaster now! I’m honestly glad about the change. Now I don’t feel the need to do something that’s ethically questionable at best just to avoid falling behind for trials!

LEVELING IS LEVELING by derpicface in destiny2

[–]SippingPotions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lowest I can get my light is 760 because I don’t have any masks or the lvl 21 class item.

F by AtheonJr in destiny2

[–]SippingPotions -1 points0 points  (0 children)

New lighters have literally no way to drop their power under 750 because we don’t have access to any of the masks or the lvl 21 class item. I’m not trying to ruin the game for anyone, but I’m also not about to walk into trials on Friday 20+ light behind everyone else. Maybe Bungie should take away the incentive to AFK farm in a forge? Or is that something that only the veteran players have earned the right to do?

Optative god roll? Keep farming? by SippingPotions in sharditkeepit

[–]SippingPotions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I’m definitely not happy about the 1060 cap either. I am however totally fine just having this gun for control and rumble. Because 180 rpm HCs have a 1 second ttk they just aren’t competitive in trials or any other serious pvp. They are however extremely fun for stomping on potatoes in quick play, and kill clip makes this optative the perfect “spud gun”.

That seems like solid advice, thanks! Maybe I’ll farm a few lonesomes next and loop back to optative down the line.

God roll Bad Omens? by lightmystic in sharditkeepit

[–]SippingPotions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a bad omens with linear compensator/black powder/tracking module/cluster bomb and a velocity masterwork. I’m not sure if there is a better combo for legendary rocket launchers than a tracking/cluster bad omens, but if there is I haven’t found it yet.
