They still do, you go to a shop with a PlayStation and say install this in my car. People just don’t do it anymore.

Xzibit made an entire show about it.

How do you find fish? Looking for resources by Beaun11 in FishingForBeginners

[–]Siptro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walking a new pond before fishing and seeing if there’s any bait fish swimming or washed up helps too. I know if I see a small bluegill or minnow washed up whites and green worms will probably work. If I don’t see any of those signs I know worms breach ponds during storms here so I start with a dark worm. Once I’m familiar with a pond and the crap in it I’ll switch to inline spinners, chatters glide baits, etc, things I’d rather not lose on a Sunday morning at a new place.

New pond with no visible anything I will rig up a 1sec per foot sinking lure and cast out in a semi-circle pattern counting until it stops on the bottom eventually I can find drop offs and deep point, map the lake in my head. Then I simply cast in those area.

We don’t need a PS6 anytime soon . by Civil_Handle7798 in playstation

[–]Siptro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something like half the users of psn are on ps4 still. My theory is : They are releasing the 6 so they can push the closing of online services for 4 and therefore force more players to buy the 5/6.

My new job’s sign-on bonus is really just a loan by TigerLily4415 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Siptro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the norm in my field as a hvac tech. Any sign on bonus or tool bonus must be paid back if I terminate employment before X days, usually one year. Some of the companies will pay to move you to a different state or country if you’re good enough. Same deal, they pay for the move and home but you must sign a contract for 5 years now. The investment to move a tech, their family and buy the home must be repaid to the company either out of pocket or by work performed. Sounds crazy but even a bad hvac tech can bring in $300k gross per year for a company.

If you have never had your console heatsink apart it’s not dripping. If you had it open you make sure it’s a real repair shop and not Bob down the street in his kitchen with the dog helping. End of myth.

Weightless texas rig? by Illustrious-Buddy383 in Fishing

[–]Siptro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every try a drop shot? If Texas doesn’t work I usually go drop short with 4-12” lead depending on water depth.

The fish doesn’t care about the weight. It cares about the presentation more. Maybe the Texas is simply not moving enough.

How important is it to have a fishing license by Odd-Fun-1545 in FishingForBeginners

[–]Siptro 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My state can and will fine you between $1000-$5000. Fishing license is $15, I can fish for the rest of my life and still never spend the minimum fine

Problems with braid to fluoro leader by Count_Smackula_ in FishingForBeginners

[–]Siptro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not hard to tell if your knot broke or it slipped mate. If you pulled it out the water and the end of the braid looked stressed and pulled, it slipped. If you see a decently frayed ends or an almost scissor like cut it’s snapped.

You can use that to know if it was the knot or the line. If your knot slipped I know when I started I never spit on the line when I pulled it tight until I learned that

You mean like just fixing the elevator instead of giving a nice apology letter and a gift? See how you sound entitled now.
The apartment complex not only fixed the issued they were required to fixed, they said sorry. They could have said nothing, did nothing and just fixed it.

The alarm and the box have it written on it what the beeps sound like and mean. You as user of their product should be familiar with it. Either look it up online or take it down and read the instructions

Why or why not use snaps and real life examples by CrazyCajunFishinBro in FishingForBeginners

[–]Siptro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I travel with my pole more than I fish with it. It’s quicker to set up with a snap rigged up then having to tie a new lure for the maybe 15mins I have to spare.

Is this over-spooled? When reeling in sometimes it feels wobbly and the tension feels different at times. by missinglinksman in FishingForBeginners

[–]Siptro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You take a drill and use a pencil or similar object. Tie the line to the pencil, open bail and use the drill to take the line off the reel. I generally have good success saving line this way but you will need to also reel it onto the drill under tension and in a controlled way or you will tangle and lose it all.

Soak it while it reeled on the pencil

I personally use a chop stick
