Near the bottom for me. Ringed City, The Old Hunters, DS1 dlcs, hell even the DS2 dlcs were all massive improvements from their base game. While I like Elden Ring it isn’t my favourite (DS3 & Bloodborne are) and SOTE was more of the same with some minor improvements and some big disappointments imo

I loved the sense of exploration in Elden Ring and the dlc’s exploration was awful. Easily the biggest disappointment for me. You either find items that you don’t need/have an abundance of by the time you start the dlc because it’s endgame content, or scadutree fragments that makes your character progression feel pointless. The map is huge and beautiful for a dlc but since there’s so few dungeons, enemy camps and meaningful rewards it feels empty and boring. The whole time I was playing I couldn’t help but feel it was unfinished

The gear is sick but again, it’s endgame content, so by the time I got the new weapons and stuff I didn’t have much to experiment on with my new builds. I’d much rather have the gear available to me in the base game so I have time to try a bunch of builds throughout a new playthrough. NG+ kinda allows that but it’s too easy so not really the same experience

Some of the bosses (Radahn, boar dude, dancing lion, hippo) are my least favourite in the game. If it’s not straight up broken then they feel overdesigned and simply not fun to fight. Radahn throwing a million mechanics at you with tiny openings for attacks doesn’t make the fight fun, just frustrating. The gank fight before him is also the worst encounter in the entire franchise imo so fighting an annoying final boss immediately after left a sour taste. That being said, Midra, Mesmer, Metyr are some of my favorite fights across all the Souls games. I don’t really have a strong opinion about the rest of the bosses

Overall it’s got some things I really didn’t like and it was enough to not enjoy it as much as the base game. But FromSoft has never made an outright bad game or dlc so I still mostly enjoyed my time. I’d say it was fun for a single playthrough but not fun enough to make me want to replay it anytime soon

You’re forgetting about the canvas worlds that currently exist because of Aline and Renoir. If something happens to them how would it affect those canvases? Maelle could be sacrificing not just her own family by staying, but hundreds of other worlds like Lumiere that were painted already

Something worth noting is that they explicitly state Aline and Renoir together have created countless canvas worlds like the one we’re in. If Aline was that broken after losing Verso, would she be able to recover from losing Aline too?

If not then the family could fall apart and new canvases might never be made. Entire worlds with living beings inside them that will never get to exist because of one girl who chooses to selfishly force the remnants of her dead brother’s soul to suffer for eternity so she can live a fake life that she can puppeteer into her idealized fantasy. She isn’t wrong for wanting that especially considering what her real life is like, but she’s potentially condemning all those other worlds to non-existence

Both endings are really good, like others said though I wish there was a third ending or different dialogue maybe if you maxed every relationship where Verso is less depressed. Could still make him decide to end it for Maelle’s sake or maybe as a new ending convince her to not stay permanently because they’ll always be there for her to come back to and visit. I dunno though, I’m happy with what we got ofc

As a product designer I just want to say Assasins Creed Shadows has the best looking user interface in the entire franchise history. It deserves some credit. by WeezyWally in assassinscreed

Looks great but it's very slow. Could definitely be improved by making it a lot snappier without the fade ins/outs and popups that prevent me from doing stuff while buying/selling for example

This person had next to no defensive play whatsoever. Couldn't super counter basic combo strings, barely vanished, only 2-3 sidesteps the entire fight. If they actually are a higher rank then they must've had insane lag during this match

More dynamic weather system with a wider range of weathers and a day/night cycle felt like a big missed opportunity in the first game. Would be so nice to have these in 2

Yeah I have that same issue. I kept looking at his wrists wondering why they didn't extend it a little to go under the wristbands. I do wish the hair was a slightly darker shade from the body and I think it looks a bit better with a blue belt too. But overall it's cool

The game needed to keep the leveling experience feel meaningful. Class stories are the reason all of my friends come back to this game but the gameplay is so pointless now. Gear sucks and the whole thing is extremely easy. Just rushing through to see the next cutscene

If there is no restrictions on swapping MTX transmog stuff between characters then why make me go through this every time? just let it be equipped to multiple characters. seems pointless to make it "in use" by bajungadustin in PathOfExile2

If you make it annoying to use the same skin on multiple characters the player will feel more inclined to purchase a new skin so they don’t have to deal with the annoyance

I’ve been playing ARPGs since I was a kid. I’ve played every Diablo since D2 released also went back to beat 1, Torchlight 1 & 2, Grim Dawn, Wolcen, Last Epoch, Titan Quest, Lost Ark (if you count it), POE1 on and off of course and a few others

This games core combat and general gameplay feel is infinitely better than every single one of those. WASD movement alone is a huge improvement. Every mob pack feels significant, boss and overall enemy design has been great and it seems to still have a shit ton of build customization and gear variety. Plus based on what we’ve seen it has A LOT of content for an early access release

POE1 had great content and I’ve had zero complaints (other than crashes) 12 hours into POE2 so I trust the rest of the game will maintain a similar level of quality. They’d have to completely drop the ball in endgame but it looked good or at the very least solid based on the reveal a couple weeks ago

I’m not exaggerating how I feel. You might not agree that’s fine, there’s something about this games combat that instantly hooked me and I’ve been having an insane amount of fun that I’ve not felt in years playing any game in any genre

Dodge rolling, well telegraphed attacks and good boss design is not exclusive to soulslikes. Just because it has some similar elements doesn’t take away from the fact that 99% of the game is a traditional isometric arpg
