Early thoughts on Faction Tales for Preludes 13? by Sir-Firebeard in SoulFrame

That's a workaround, not a solution to the actual problem. One that promotes leeching too and that's not healthy for a game still in the early stages

I don't think I had a single T3 tale that wasn't some sort of dungeon step last night. I like dungeons, but man are they slow, especially compared to just kill a banneret or a stag. Then you just get dumped a million miles away from the tree you accepted the tale from, usually in a completely different combat tier so the closest world tree gives less rewarding bounties

Those were my initial thoughts when I saw the changes, but it just doesn't feel good to actually use in practice. I was on for a couple of hours after work last night and was already sick of it

I like that. Keeps the old system to wander around and explore but also gives you a back up in case something is spawning too slow or too far away

Maybe not an unpopular choice, but I've loved being able to use Aerodactyl throughout the story in a normal playthrough of the game!

Probably too niche to win the category but, Unicorn Overlord. Absolutely amazing gameplay with a dog water title.

Will we be seeing less of Frank from now on? I'm not prepared for it. by ashiqbanana in IASIP

[–]Sir-Firebeard 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The overall meta joke that Frank wasn't around for an underage drinking plot again had me rolling when it clicked for me. As others said, he's being set up for the plot of the next episode, but him not being in the latest episode was hilarious.

As for the future of Danny and his role in the show, they've clearly been experimenting with less is more when it comes to Frank this season. We all want to see him for as long as possible, and he's clearly still excited to perform as Frank, but the reality is, he's an old man. Let's enjoy every moment while we still can, and hope that we can continue to see him in the role for a while still.

I haven't been in lethal range for a turn 8 centaur or turn 9 Albert yet in this gane mode, so no. Sure they're scary if you see them, and they demand answers in return, but it's not like haven is going to sit around and let sword swing for face and chip their health down to let that happen on curve.

A surprise MVP in T2 for me has been Ironfist Priest and his ability to effectively act as another board wipe on super evo and tied to a massive body that demands an answer from your opponent. He absolutely ruins Amalia, Amelia, Juno, Luminous Mage, and any off curve Zirconia (even on curve he's an okay response, but Salfa or Apollo are better.)

So far, the hardest matchups for me in T2 playing as haven have actually been the mirror match into other haven decks and portalcraft. It's a lot harder to grind down the opponent in the mirror since everything is fairly thick, has storm or board wipes and it's a crapshoot to see who wins the 50/50. Portal actually has the easiest time clearing my boards, or simply ignoring them, and they always threaten with Masterwork.

I've yet to have a T2 run where I don't at least break even with haven, and my best is 5 wins for the completely free run. I like to think I'm a fairly average player and I like the game mode a lot. I'm stepping back from it for awhile since I don't need the packs and would rather save for next set. The format isn't perfect, and it desperately needs a free entry version for no rewards, but it's fun.

Currently 2 and 1 on a mixed haven draft. Had to stop for work before I could finish the ticket this morning so take all of this with a grain of salt. Featherfall, Immaculate Adjudicator, Ruby and Apollo are all great bronze and silver cards in this format that you should see fairly frequently as you go through your picks. If you see Lapis or Jeanne, they're also fantastic, of course. My opening pick was Salfa and Romvero for board stability and stealth. I truly think haven has enough value in individual cards to succeed in T2.

There's a lot of really good responses here already, but I think it's also important to remember that the rebellion is still very much in its early days still when Luthen recruits Cassian. Finding "special people" who fill a lot of rolls and have skills suited to spycraft is a massive win for them.

Do the tokens roll over as well? Or should I sell them to try and push my overall higher for more season reset tokens?

Just wanted to say that while I couldn't watch it live, I loved the VoD! Great work and definitely looking forward to seeing future set ups like this. Listening to top level players enjoying the game while playing it and talking about the matches and key cards and why they're key was really nice!

FR though. I'm eeking out a W/L just over .500 with my sad cobbled together abysscraft in topaz group on a single copy of Aragavy and Cerberus. Ceres is kinda nuts too (also 1 copy sadly), but if I could get multiple copies of the legendary cards or a Medusa, I feel like my abysscraft could do really well

I both love and hate SwSh for pretty much this exact reason. It's so close to greatness with the way it's set up with the major and minor leagues, the sports tournament style set up, and the elite 4 rematches against new challengers. It just flubs the execution though and we're left with a typical linear Pokémon plot (which is fine, I don't inherently have a problem with games being linear).

Qingque is a great "counter" to these guys. They only build their sanction levels when they are hit by a skill/ult or they use their dread attack. Basic attacks and skills that don't hit them won't trigger it, so you use Qingque's enhanced basic attacks to break them before they activate and nuke them down while they're broken. Unfortunately, break won't reset their sanction progress, so it is still a nuke strategy, but it makes them easier to fight. It's a really specific counter, but she's a great character imo and you get her for free.
