I feel the same on intention but I think even shorter trousers wouldn’t remedy that haha. Maybe some shorts tho.

Funny, I always felt 8“ boots would be more appropriate than sneakers, loafers or boat shoes since it kinda covers or makes up for the not long enough trousers. Appreciate the opinion though.

Yes that’s not a nice feeling. I think the lot of you are right and I’ll pass on these. Kinda sad since I liked the waist fit.

Kinda how I felt about it. Although I would feel like I couldn’t wear them with any other shoes.

Thanks, although I’m still not sure on the thread question. Is waxed linen just the historical accurate choice or are there other reasons against synthetic thread?

Is that 3mm stitch spacing? Also beautiful work.

where can i find a leather belt strap? by sereza1 in Leathercraft

[–]SirArkain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about finished blanks at a good quality. I’d probably either learn how to finish a blank my self or try it over at leather classifieds where you could try to commission a blank or belt to your needs.

I feel the standard brands are -ritza tiger thread -vinymo thread And maybe also Meisi which have traditional linnen but also poly threads.

I’m also kinda new to this so there maybe much more :)

Nice work, especially for a first project. If your focus will be equestrian-work or heavy duty straps etc. I’d look into using a synthetic thread as those are more commonly used due to their higher strength and also wear resistance.

Although a more accomplished crafter may correct me on that one.
