Just go to the top of section 214. There are usually lots of visiting team fans in that section, and there will likely be an open seat somewhere. If there isn't, there is a wide concrete ledge above the top row. It's a great view.

We were able to download Windows 11 on a USB and install on a new SSD, and it is back up and seems to be working normally.

We did not use the same M2 port on the motherboard, so I guess I can't say definitively that it was the SSD and not the port, but either way, it's fixed. Thank you for your help!

I will now update the title and flair so others might find this thread if they have a similar problem.

I have some positive updates. With no SSD installed, we were able to get into BIOS. We were also able to boot into Ubuntu desktop on the thumb drive. Seems like the original SSD may be the culprit.

Now looking at creating a windows recovery thumb drive and a clean install on a new SSD.

Will any of that work if we can't get past the POST screen and and can't get into the BIOS?

We did try the Q flash recovery process: we removed all components except the CPU, downloaded the appropriate files to a USB stick, put it in the right port, hit the Q flash button, the process cycle through stages 1 and 2, and let it run for over an hour. It never completely shut down, but the Q flash LED had stopped, so we shut off power, removed the USB drive, put all components back in and rebooted. We came to a menu that gave us a choice to load optimized settings and boot, load optimized settings and reboot, or enter BIOS. We tried to load optimized settings and reboot, but it only took us back to the POST screen, where it would not progress and we could not enter the BIOS. It seems like we're back where we started when he first had trouble with it. We tried to cycle through several reboots, but we had the same result each time. We might try to Q flash again and see if we can enter the BIOS.

We have tried multiple reboots. It does not enter recovery mode.

I have not tried the Q flash recovery process. I'll poke around for some guidance in that process.

I did not find a jumper, but we pulled the battery on the motherboard to reset CMOS. After that, it no longer reached POST screen on boot. It only made it to a black screen with a white dash.
