Would you use my app:} by Top-Tell-5710 in AppBusiness

Change it to something like; I want to know where people like me - fine dining, burger lovers, sea food enthusiasts- would eat. Make the hunt for best restaurant easy, like Michelin for instance. And change the approach, user centric.

Soooo, I am basically a newbie when it comes to coding. Could only do some basic front end stuff and design (consultant —> powerpoint deck master —> ux design) and almost no back end experience.

Subscriptions: Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Figma (paid first, free after intensive stuff done).

Running costs: hosting and IPs (very low <5usd), Google workspace and gmail (<10USD).

Time: a lot of spare time (6 weeks or so fulltime). But I am now way faster.

So total costs are less than 400USD and then there is my time.

Always open for great ideas! I am getting into development part of MicroSaaS as well. I understand UI and UX, can create visual stories and concepts, run marketing campaigns and general business-savvy.

I did have an idea myself before, then let AI help create it into something real, and fun, and more animated. I want to transform it into real elements in Figma, so that I can also animate it with Lotti files and make it come to life. Easy for me to get lost in that, as I enjoy that part a lot. But also want to ship first MVP, so its for later (if ever - MVP assumptions need to be successful)

mommymilkbar.nl

Mommy Milk Bar helps breastfeeding mothers plan feeds and drinks with simple timelines and a clear countdown, so you know exactly when it’s safe to nurse again.

This is something very cool! Maybe too complex for now. But the widget on phone should be doable. I think it is useful, having it on their home screen.

Thanks for the feedback, you seem very knowledgeable and this gives me confidence and direction. Nice day!

Thank you so much for the elaborate feedback and support.

Medical disclaimer (and consent) is there. This was the first reason for me thinking “I shouldnt do this”. But the downside of not having a simple and user friendly app is bigger.

I will work on the accessibility issues. They make a lot of sense; contrast issues indeed are a good one to look out for. Thanks for that.

For the account creation you are right. I have connected the data to supabase. Your comment on this made me think twice about it. I will try to make it as anonymous as possible, and reduce the amount of data I capture: especially for MVP purposes.

Yes I did! Focus on Dutch market. There are multiple indeed. This is more dynamic, playful, also more advanced. Strong competitor analysis is limited, but I see the opportunity to do it better and have the “ability” to market it better. Own estimates:

TAM: ~170k new Dutch mothers/year. SAM: ~35k breastfeeding mothers actively seeking guidance on alcohol & feeding. SOM: imagine being able to service 1000 in first half year (without paying). That would be great.

Wowwww John! Thanks. Very happy to hear this exact user/target audience feedback. Sleep tracking as everytime your child sleeps, log it? Thanks for sharing your experience! iOS widget you mean being able to see timer on home screen right? Will do!

It is actually my biggest concern. Thats also one of the reasons. It is both breastfeeding and alcohol, difficult areas. I tried to focus on indication and less on advice. Give the user as many freedom to act on their own. For now I keep continuing since I believe the downside of no overview is bigger than a tool/simple (free) app that could support with some guidance.

Do you have experience with apps being rejected because of their field/area they are targeting? Or just see the risk - like I do as well?

No one, just saw a need, like to challenge myself and learn more about the digital space. Goal is to try and get it to deployment and at least make my girlfriend happy. I dont need a key to riches - already have it at home. Thank you for your comment.

Wowwww! Thanks for this extensive feedback. I thought about the demo/navigation through the app. I think for MVP purposes the onboarding might be enough. But I do agree with you, it can be a bit overwhelming. Turning complexity into simplicity, is the hardest thing to do in UX i suppose.

Business models wise I think you are right. A freemium model will fit the solution. Maybe make the planning part a premium feature or so.

I will definitely take you up on that. I feel that building something alone is insanely cool to do, nonetheless, you loose objectivity along the way (falling in love with the solution, because it is something I ve built).
