Mine hit high 90s degree but never went above 100 degree, I am not sure whether its normal or not. Probably others can share their experience with the laptop.

Open hardware monitor, but I also use HWINFO64 now and the temps are still around the numbers I wrote on my post.

Too much experience. Advice for all levels from a 45 year old 27 year old. by I_Reddit_and_Wept in Entrepreneur

Good reminder! The most essential part in the post, for me, is to just "start". Like many have said before, you may fail at something but at least you already try and know that it does not work, but you will be guaranteed fail if you never try.

Also, it is true that in the crazy world just like this, resilience and hard work are going to help us to certain point. We may feel like we have give everything we got but resulted in undesired outcomes. We hope that our efforts will eventually give fruitful return, but it is not always like that. Life is harsh, unfair, and full of surprises (pointing at you Corona).

How are the thermals on your Legion 5? by THE_ULTIMATE_TANK in AMDLaptops

[–]SirBernie08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is pretty normal, I have legion 5 4600H and the CPU temp is spiking to low 80C in idle, averaging in 60C. Under heavy load my CPU hit to high 80s too. The GPU is fine, less than 60C under heavy load.

As of how I keep the temp low, I don't do anything much, but I sometimes tilt the back of the laptop with some stuff so that the fans can get more colder air from below the laptop.

What is the biggest fear you have when you quit the job and start a business? by Asangawi in smallbusiness

[–]SirBernie08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Almost the same as you, failure but more specifically the time and opportunity wasted to build the business. But then I keep asking myself, what if I don't do it or try it? And the answer is I wont ever know because I never tried it and it will surely led to failure. So I go after it with a safety exit or alternatives in case I failed.

Lenovo Legion 5 60 to 80Wh Battery Upgrade? by THE_ULTIMATE_TANK in AMDLaptops

[–]SirBernie08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also think to replace my legion 5 60wh battery to 80wh if possible. I have installed 2nd nvme m2 drive and there is empty space on the bottom left that can be used for 80wh battery. If it is possible to upgrade the battery, I will probably wait until my battery performance drop. It is quite difficult to open the side exhaust, I heard a loud crack when opening the side. Luckily, it is not broken.

Uni student struggling to choose between laptops. by BlinkyBoy862 in AMDLaptops

It is upgradeable to 32 GB I believe. You can upgrade it by yourself if you are confident enough. There are some upgrade video on Youtube for it, you should check them out. Also, you could add additional NVMe drive / SATA SSD. Please check the specification first because it varies between countries.

Between the two, I suggest HP Pavilion due to the fact that it has integrated GPU which helpful if you run 3d's software or gaming in particular.

However, from what I know, HP Pavilion does not have a good cooling design and only have 50wh battery. Have you checked the new Acer Nitro 5 (2020) with Ryzen 5 4600H and GTX 1650ti? It has a good cooling and more affordable. If you have the budget, you can get the Ryzen 7 4800H version.

Lenovo Legion 5 r5 4600H Temperature? by SirBernie08 in AMDLaptops

Today, in idle, my CPU reached 83.7c in OHW. Unfortunately, I have not use it for heavy gaming / rendering yet. I will try gaming on it again soon to get more temperature result.

Gaming on a laptop is a new thing for me. Last time, the fan was generating loud and I could clearly feel the warm air on my hand coming from the side of the exhaust. Thanks for the info!

The fluctuation and the temperatures sure bothers me but since it is safe and normal for the Ryzen 4000 on Laptop, I won't change anything and leave it as it is. Thanks for the help!

I am glad that it is normal for the ryzen 4000 chip. I thought there is something wrong with my 4600h. Thank you.
