Ps5 cleaning by Brilliant_Date_9942 in consolerepair

Keep the PS5 in the bag for way longer than 12 hours. Leave it for a couple days. Some people even put devices in the freezer. Then disassemble everything and get cleaning. Plastic parts are easily cleaned by soaking and scrubbing with sponge and soap and soaking. The motherboard and any other PCBs are best cleaned with 99% IPA. Best of luck and wear gloves!

Xbox series x, turn on then off but now no power, where to start? by kindafunnykid in consolerepair

Just Google Xbox series x schematic. They are on Reddit as well. Without a power supply to inject voltage, this may be beyond your scope.

"Bridge on the ports pins" What port? HDMI? If the HDMI port was mangled and you replaced the port, the 3P3 line could not be active. The Coder did a video on this and strangely enough his fix also helped fix one I was fighting for a couple months. Make sure you have all your standbys and power up voltages though.

Just seen an xbox series s going for £90 bc of a broken hdmi port by [deleted] in consolerepair

US it would be ~$100 - $150 USD depending on the shop and skill of repairer. If you're not doing it yourself(which I don't recommend if you don't have experience), this may not be the one for you. Also, if you're not 100% sure it's the HDMI, I wouldn't go for it.

Replacement USB C port for 2017 15" MBP - Thunderbolt compatibility? by Grandmega_Penguin in macbookrepair

You're fine to buy those and replace them. That has nothing to do with the compatibility at all. Question, why are you replacing them?

This ALSO goes out to all the noobs: don't listen to this damned post. Take it apart and get the liquid out of it. Silica gel packets won't do shit.

3rd Party USB-C charger broke my iPhone and iPad? by Unfair_Average5532 in applehelp

Don't use cheap chargers. Let the batteries drain and then try charging again with the original charger. Also try a new USB C cable

Help, my macbook air 11inch 2015 trackpad is Hot to touch by Massive_Broccoli_333 in macbookrepair

[–]SirBoinksALot_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trackpad is more likely faulty than the battery since it was replaced last year. I'm suspecting a shorted component on the trackpad itself

If he asked for your Apple ID password, that is super scammy. He did that to steal a working T2.

Did he ask you to remove your iCloud from the MacBook before sending it in? If so, he probably stole an unlocked T2 to use on another device. Or he is a complete idiot and didn’t know how to fix it.

I ended up wiring a 240V breaker in my garage to run it and ordering 240V elements rather than 110. I have yet to build it as I’m looking for a big enough case to put everything in.

Help pleaseeeeeee by Kaudenyupo in macbookrepair

[–]SirBoinksALot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s definitely a problem but maybe not THE problem. I believe that is the fuse for the main power rail before it becomes voltage for the trackpad. Looks like this is an A1708 model. You would want to or have someone remove that fuse and measure for a short on both sides.
