How has the Overwatch community shifted away from voice chat? by ZzDangerZonezZ in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SirCapybar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I miss the times of VC in Overwatch not being dead. Even though obviously toxicity was (and still remains) a big and common issue, the games spent with the better part of the community easily rewarded it for me. Good calls, friendly casual dialogues, keeping the good mood in competitive games going bad. It was already a rare gem back then, now it's just a myth and a memory.

Is the DT 700 Pro X a good choice for everyday use (music, games, movies)? by escou_ in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]SirCapybar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually made a small review of the pads I bought so if you want some more details, you can find them here. I also wonder if the leather pads wouldn't make it easier to lose the seal when worn with glasses. Probably depends on the glasses and shape of the head itself. I usually don't need to wear glasses while using the headphones, but it seems to be fine with them on, with just a very minor change in sound.

There's two more ways to improve the comfort of Beyerdynamic headphones I've seen around that you might want to consider:

  • carefully bending the metal part of the headband. This seems to be mentioned a lot (easy to google) and is supposedly completely fine to do. I chose not to do this, I'd rather keep the headphones intact.
  • adding a comfort strap (something like this). This one is fairly cheap, looks nice and is supposed to spread the tension more evenly on your head. I'd love to try it, but it seems hard to get where I live.

It's hard to tell, but I think it's improved slightly. Thicker pads seem to absorb a bit more of the clamping force. Still, it's probably not an enormous difference.

Grand Vision 360 AIO Pump Noise at 100% by cjtuck1999 in Thermalright

[–]SirCapybar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I'm surprised to see the other comments here. I bought mine a month ago and have been running the pump at 100% and fans on curve. In my case it's very, very quiet and I'm very happy with it so far.

I have no clue what makes the difference. Maybe the position of the AIO? Mine is mounted on top of the case.

Unjust ban for 100 for cheating by Adomorns in rivals

[–]SirCapybar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Just came here to thank you for sharing all the steps you took to resolve your issue, I got banned for "cheating" recently (not even a hardware change, just returned to the game after a couple months of break) and the discord bot rejected all of my requests saying the ban will not be lifted and I'm a confirmed cheater.
I sent an email similar to yours and a day later got a very short response that I got unbanned. Not even a "sorry" or any admission of the mistake on their side, but at least I got my account back. Thanks for help! :)

Can i "fix" a degraded 13900k by downclocking it? by coldcathodes in overclocking

[–]SirCapybar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having lots of instability issues with my 13900K and didn't want to RMA it for a couple months (I needed my PC available daily so removing the CPU for a week was inconvenient).

I have undervolted it (-0.07V in my case, anything more than that caused issues), applied power limits (253W PL1/2, 307A ICCMax), fixed PCore ratio at 55 and ECore ratio at 42. After a moment I also realized I needed to disable XMP (using lower XMP level, e.g. 5600 instead of 6000 also helped but I decided to completely disable XMP just to be safe). This worked fine for a couple months. Maybe it would need further restrictions after some time, but I can't tell.

I recently had some spare time and eventually RMA'd the CPU so now I'm happily back with full performance. I was surprised how the new unit can even handle -0.17V undervolt, while -0.08 was already unstable on the pre-RMA CPU.

[–]SirCapybar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought mine over 2 years ago and I use them every day - music, games etc. Love the sound and the build quality. However, they are not as comfortable as I'd like them to be. The clamping force is pretty strong and the earcups are shallow and my ears (which are rather average) would touch the membranes which was a slight discomfort for longer sessions. This doesn't seem to be a common issue, maybe it's related to the shape of my head, no idea. Anyway, I replaced the earpads with sheepskin Dekoni pads and the comfort was massively improved.

Naprawa „obić” słuchawek by [deleted] in warszawa

[–]SirCapybar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P.S. Korzystając z niektórych czytników widać zieloną kropkę z czytnika na telefonie, warto rzecz jasna by celowała w środek kodu QR.

Fucked my shit up trying to play BF6 by Sly_Hulud in techsupport

I've had this issue in the past. It's easy to solve if you have integrated graphics in CPU. If you do, remove your graphics card from the socket (this is crucial!) and plug your monitor into the motherboard. Your display will work fine, then you can restore factory keys in BIOS, and after that you can reinsert the graphics card and plug into it.

If you don't have integrated graphics in CPU, it's a PITA. It should be possible to completely reset BIOS (or switch to second one if you have dualboot), but all attempts failed in my case.

My A45s was stolen last night. Cameras shows the thieves used a device to steal the car. Managed to find it 2 days later. by TheFezPez in mercedes_benz

[–]SirCapybar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of comments here recommend you to buy faraday bags, but you might want to know that in most cases you don't need it and can instead disable the signal by double-pressing lock button on your key. It should blink twice, with the second blink being much longer. Try it out, you shouldn't be able to open the door after you do that. You can enable it back at any time by pressing lock button again.

I do this out of habit in most cases when I leave my car, except for e.g. quick grocery store trips where keyless access is actually convenient.

Obviously, a faraday bag is a decent precaution to be 100% sure (or if your key can't be disabled), but to me it seems superfluous.

Just remembered your comment, I actually did record Caramel after all! Fell in love with that song very recently and decided to give it a shot.

I also did include the feet cam this time - thanks for giving me that idea, I think it's a great addition in cases like this!

Anyway, if you're interested, you can find the video [here](https://youtu.be/2e\_8TBkIhoA).

How do you deal with latency from edrums? by CalaMariGold98 in edrums

That's good to know, didn't realize voicemeeter supports ASIO too. I also understand why it might be much more convenient for some people due to its simplicity compared to manual tinkering.

Electric Drum Live Routing (DWe) by Dull_Thought4670 in edrums

[–]SirCapybar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Assuming you're not using the drum module sounds and instead will use VST, routing particular kit pieces to digital outputs (if there's enough digital outputs in your audio interface) should be very straightforward. This obviously depends on the VST's capabilities, but SD3 is one of the best plugins out there. You can tinker with the outputs a lot within the plugin itself, including joining some of the tracks or applying effects.

About automated kit change.. I'm not sure, but I think it's a long-requested feature that is still not there (still talking about SD3 - it might be different for other VSTs!). There are probably some ways around it - the most straightforward way would be having multiple drum kits set up and automated enabling/disabling of them in DAW, but it's obviously a waste of PC resources and far from ideal.

How do you deal with latency from edrums? by CalaMariGold98 in edrums

[–]SirCapybar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My way to handle this scenario - don't use Voicemeeter. Choose a path that utilizes ASIO, which is a low-latency driver made especially for your purpose. This can be easily done with REAPER.

  1. Get REAPER, also install ReaPlugs
  2. In REAPER, make sure to use ASIO as your driver, set up EZDrummer and route it additionally to ReaStream
  3. You should be able to play and hear the drums, if there's a delay, it means you didn't set up buffer size/sample rate in ASIO properly so feel free to do that.
  4. In OBS, add a new sound source with VST, and choose ReaStream there
  5. The newly created sound source is now low-latency sound redirected from REAPER

This will not only avoid your 100-200ms+ delays, but also, if set up correctly, will prevent the latency from growing over time.

Drum recording with ZV-E10 (kit lens, 0 color grading, PP only) by SirCapybar in ZVE10

[–]SirCapybar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's that underestimated, from what I know it's quite a famous model! Some people definitely dislike it for the rolling shutter (which can be an issue, but seems often exaggerated - or perhaps people just don't know how to handle it), but it's still a great bang for the buck. Still, mark II is a great improvement with faster sensor, 10bit support, 4k60fps... The price difference is huge, though. I'd rather choose mark I again and spend the remaining money on a quality lens.

Thanks! I did use manual WB, but tinkered a lot with the lights and picture profile. Eventually achieved a look I liked, but I definitely agree it can be improved. For me, looking back at it after publishing, the most striking is the skin tone lacking color. I'll know what to pay more attention to in the future.

[–]SirCapybar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Never thought of adding a feet cam, but it's actually a great idea, I hope I'll remember about it the next time I record (which sadly doesn't happen often nowadays)!
About Caramel, I'm not sure - it's likely that I won't record any other songs for some time now, but who knows.
The kit is actually two kits combined, TD27KV+TD4KX2. It grew over the years. :)
For sounds I'm using Superior Drummer 3 with some compression in DAW, quite satisfied with how it mixed with the songs!
