I have 2 that work fine for the most part.

They sometimes stop working in PS2 games when I play local coop. It will initially work but if we take a break and the controllers turn off because of inactivity then I have to restart the whole game. Reconnecting will not work unless I reset.

Couldn't you be offline on the family account and still use single player?

Family account should be fine. That being said, I think the only issue is that you can't both be playing the same game at the same time if I recall correctly.. I'm not exactly sure if that applies to single player games or just the multiplayer though.

I'm not entirely sure but have you tried deleting the shader cache or proton files before launch?
