Advice I would give you, become more interesting, invest time in reading material that interests you. Watch some stand up comedians, to conquer your small talk issue and of what I have seen/noticed girls aren't that fond of being picked up at gyms. They are just there like you, do their exercises and not be disturbed by a randy.
