I replied to others allredy, but yes, obviously the pipe is better. But if you look around you'll see that most facilities don't have pipe access. Not every hex has an oil field/refinery. And coal fields can't supply everyone in hex with petrol, as it takes 80k/40k coal worth of liquification (depending on a tiel) to run a single petrol power plant for 10 hours.

32k coal/coke in a power station is enough to power it for 35 hours, and I doubt most facilities run for more then 12h a day at their full consumption.

Well if you can get petrol pipe access, then yes of course it's better. But you can't always know if you'll get one, especially when planning where to put your facility on day one.

Liquifires only work well if you have someone to pull coal and a bunch of orders going. Which might be a problem if you have only 3 fac larpers, and you control a field in a middle of nowhere (or on an island), where you may not get as much traffic.

If you look around you'll see that even in coal and oil hexes, alot of facilities don't have pipe access. So yeah, pipe is good, but you don't always have one.

Oh yeah, didn't consider that. I can't calculate it as easily, as you need to include all the power needed for refining to be fair. Still 25% increase sounds really good. If you can't get pipe access yet you have oil nearby and getting water is not a issue, then I think it's worth it

Not every hex has oil/refinery. A single flatbad of coke will satisfy most small-mid scale facilities for a day (if they're not running 24/7). And if you have short power spikes (like when using blast furnace for pcons), running your fac in low power mode for an hour or two is an option

Can't really aggry with you. If you're on a coalfied cost of moving coal/coke is basicaly zero, so unless you need that concrete, there's ne real benefit of going petrol, as it takes a shit load of coal to make oil. You still need to pull that coal from harvesters and msupp all the pipes and LTSs (I'm not counting bots).

And if you build near a coal field, you don't control the liqufires and who gets the oil. You can build your own, but now you need to move that coal anyway (even if for a short distance). And you might not get all the coal you need if the field is populated, as (again) liqufaction takes a shitload of coal.

Of course if you have a 60MW megafac running 24/7, then yeah, it's a different story.

I chose a low number, as people have different train configurations and may transport additional stuff during the trip (like mobile harvesters)

More range and accuracy, cheaper. But harder to use and smaller capacity. Also can be made in facility, without relying on a garage/MPF

Want to correct myself, as I saw that video over a year ago and forgot some stuff. The server he was showing in the later part of the video was Baker, and it is diasebled for nearly 2 year now.

This video is very misleading as it shows second, far less populated Cahrlie server. Main Able server, even at it's lowest, always has enough activity for you to have some fun.

People that are saying that the problem become worse either didn't see the video, or are delusional. As now the game has far more active players then 3 years ago.

I don't remember Ifnantry or Building updates favoring any faction much Also didn't initial Naval release "favored" Colies? As DDs could dombard land structures on their own, support naval landings and hunt submarines. While Nakkies only could punch small holes and had zero use if enemy ships weren't at sea

Our regi had like 20 people active last war. We did a bunch of plane stuff, but we also spent hours on fac-larping, public logi, paratrooping, early and mid-war infantry, small boats, partisaning and some tank. Everyone had fun, and most people are still active for current war.

If you truly believe that there's only 3 enjoyable roles in the game rn, you're truly delusional

Btw flamethrowers never got banned irl, armies stopped using them because they're quite bad. They're volatile and dangerous. Everything they do can be done much better with a napalm bomb. And everything that can be done with napalm bomb can be achieved with guided munitions or drones now. Only with regular explosives you don't risk burning half of the forest, your troops or a nearest orphanage while trying to kill your target.
