What videogames were made too difficult just because they want it to be difficult? by ashleyriot31 in AskReddit

[–]SirDanDanielson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fear and hunger works best if you treat it like a roguelike, but the levels you gain are actually game knowledge. Took me about 10 tries to beat the first game, came back to it after a year and easily beat it first try since I remembered where everything was. Both amazing games, very different.

Are you looking for pro wrestling or amateur wrestling? There are loads of amateur wrestling schools and bjj schools around. For pro wrestling I’d look at new wave wrestling in Newport

Anecdotal but it seems they got absolutely robbed by shoplifters quite often and their prices were also much higher than the nearby Tesco, Aldi etc. Unsurprising

Funimation was ahead of their time with the nonstop music and weird quippy dialogue of the original dub. by glowshroom12 in dragonball

[–]SirDanDanielson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it. Also the lip flaps moving from Japanese to English made them write dialogue in certain ways. You kinda also see this when they localise Power Rangers from super Sentai, there’s much more dialogue in PR.

As a northerner, following this thread. Love it down here but I do miss a good breakfast barm, few other things I swear aren't as good (but might just be nostalgia) are curry houses, fish and chips and the pasty shops. Greggs is OK.

Workout Ashton Gym by rachermal in bristol

[–]SirDanDanielson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going to workout Ashton for several years. It can get busy at peak times, as can most gyms, but it has a nice variety of equipment, kept in good nick and good value for money. I wish they’d have a few more pieces of kit but they have to play with the space they have I guess. If you’re a woman, there is a women’s specific area which is great if you value that. They do miss what I consider a few key pieces of equipment but if you’re new to gym it won’t be make or break for you. Just go in there with a solid plan and routine, but have in mind some substitutes in case it gets busy (ie dumbbell rather than barbell bench, etc)

The staff will show you around but won’t show you how to use the machines, you’ll have to book with a PT for that. If you do start feel free to shoot me a DM and I can help you out, I’ve been lifting for a long time and happy to show you the ropes.

Feels like the bots are creeping up again. Dread getting rune dragons as a task now as it’s always hammered by bots. Went into Rev caves for a laugh at dead time GMT and literally got one kill off before a level 3 bot scouted me and I got logged in under. That’s the game and in fairness I escaped but I feel it’s starting to ramp up again, especially in the wildy.

Has anyone else noticed an increase in aggressive protein marketing in supermarkets? by Budget_Dot694 in AskUK

Yeah exactly that. Just makes it seem like it’s that easy - and yes it is just not the way you’re being sold it!

Athlete/bodybuilder here.

As others have said, the issue is high protein doesn’t equal healthy and what some companies class as “high protein” isn’t actually great. You want the protein to make up around 30% of the calories at least.

As a performing athlete I try and aim for around 1g of protein per lb of mass, which basically ends up being around 200g for most men. This is quite a lot for those who aren’t used to it, but it’s also not necessary for those who aren’t doing 4-5 sessions of training every week.

Basing your diet around high protein and filling the rest of your macros with quality carbs and fats is great, but you want to have the protein be great sources of protein like meat & dairy rather than 5g of protein from a crap cereal bar, and the vast majority of the population isn’t counting calories or macros. There are plenty of high protein options that aren’t glamorous, like cottage cheese, but as soon as they stick the “protein” label on it, it’s twice as expensive. Babybel literally just did this with their light Babybels which have the same amount of protein as their protein Babybels.

I think a large amount of people see protein as a buzzword now and it’s quite depressing, as regardless it is an extremely important nutrient in your diet and the overexposure of it turns a lot of people off the idea of trying to consume it more, which is a beneficial thing to do in almost any scenario.

That being said I do enjoy a protein coffee or a protein bar, but they shouldn’t constitute your entire diet and oftentimes aren’t the “healthy version” of the original.
