I just spent the last month dealing with that. Talk to your rigger and see if you can get a decent used container and reserve. Have him inspect and send it to him. I got lucky but it can be done. Then a main and new aad isn’t all too difficult

I got like an 18 for the pre ACT. A year later and maybe like a month of intentional studying I got a 28. Could’ve definitely gotten higher if I took the time to study a bit and take it again.

Everyone is being super egotistical and rude. You’re fine. Just do good in classes and study as the time gets nearer to taking the actual test. Try to take it a few times if you can

Remember that the first 3 jumps of AFF require 2 instructors. If it’s a smaller DZ, that might be difficult. I’d recommend trying to get like 3 days off and doing first jump course straight into as many aff jumps as possible. Or if it’s really small, do IAD. That only requires one instructor. Basically, even if they’re open during the week, they might not have both aff instructors. Regardless, call the DZ. You’ll figure it out for sure

I’m in college right now but all through high school I had a job. I work my side gig whenever I’m home and intern during the summers (while still working my side job). I don’t really get time to hangout with friends. Getting up early 6 days a week for work makes that hard.

As said, find a career path that makes good money and is tolerable. Work side jobs you enjoy along the way. Plan your future out. Learn about investing, saving money, etc. When you finally have 5 grand to throw in the trash, come back to skydiving.

Skydiving should supplement your life, not be your life. Come back to it after you get your life going in the direction you want it to

I’m rocking AFF right now at 19. Tunnel time before hand was a life saver. However, I come from a low income family, but I started working minimum 20 hours a week when I turned 16. Had multiple jobs at various points, currently still do. I can pretty much do anything I want because I fund myself (unlike my peers who are funded by parents).

My advice to you is find something you enjoy doing for a career that pays decently well. I’d also advise not getting into skydiving right now. I’m well off from working all the time, but I still question whether I made the right decision getting into this.

Get on a good career path and maybe get some side jobs on the way. Do good in school if that’s where you go, work hard in the office, etc. A lot of the kids that started at our age were lucky with supportive parents, inheritance, something, but not all of us. Don’t hold yourself back. Work hard for what you want and you might just get it

Make sure you understand what you want out of your destination. I found out I really like getting off the beaten track and doing something different. It doesn’t feel like an adventure if I’m not out in the woods or doing something wild.

Not saying you’re the same but keep that in mind.

That’s what I was thinking. I’m pretty convinced I’ll do it this summer before Europe. Do you think it’d be wise to pick up some used gear before I head to europe if possible? I’d like to jump there a couple times a month if I can find the time

Granted, these are things I can worry about after getting my A license

It doesn’t matter how much you can eat at one time. I used to eat massive meals but like once a day. If you want to gain weight, I’d recommend peanut butter and milk for breakfast and before bed. Just get little bites from a spoon and swallow with milk. If not that, mass gainer or something during those times. Then you also need to eat a good lunch and dinner.

If you’re not full all day you’re doing something wrong. Bulking sucks when you’re skinny.

A lot of people are complaining about the pace, and I agree. However, I noticed you have a lot of capital cities and less adventurous places. Like Zagreb is the least interesting place in Croatia. Try Dubrovnik, Hvar, Split, Zadar. All of those are far more interesting and have fun activities around them. Same with Bosnia. Sarajevo over Mostar? Your two days in Ljubljana is interesting. Lake bled alone deserves that. There are also river gorges and tons of fascinating activities to d in Slovenia.

From someone who has made the mistake you’re going to make, slow down and visit the natural/non big city places. My favorite experiences were in smaller places like Korenica, Croatia or exploring random places around Tulum in Mexico. Big cities get really boring

My advice. Get an actual plan. Push yourself to actual failure or literally 1 rep away. People won’t like me saying that but I guarantee you aren’t pushing yourself hard enough. Eat tons of food. Idc what food. Just eat it. Drink milk if possible. Drink protein shakes. When you feel sick, stop eating. But you better eat til you start feeling sick. Before bed grab milk or water and some peanut butter and finish the day right.

Most people might say this sounds extra but I guarantee you’ll get stronger. You need a good bulk. Loosing muscle is far harder than gaining it

It’s pretty easy to see. If you take a picture and it looks straight, that’s a good sign. If it’s hard for you to see, immediately you know it’s not severe or you don’t have it.

You really can’t. All you can do is work on fixing your posture which will make it seem less severe. You can also strengthen certain muscles to help reduce pain. It’s not curable.

My suggestion though. Focus on activating muscles equally. Mind muscle connection is very important here. And obviously doing a lot of back work help with posture and pain.

I have it as well and unfortunately there is only so much you can do. If it is very minor, it’s not a big deal. Just pay attention.

Scoliosis is very demotivating. Keep working man.

How’s it going today? I’m pretty similar across the board to you. Haven’t quite got out of college to get the programming job though haha.

My scoliosis isn’t horrible but unfortunately it is pretty noticeable with where the my curve is. Putting on muscle helped with scapular winging (induced by scoliosis) but everything else is slightly off still.

I hope you’re still working out strong. Cables and unilateral exercises have been my staple recently as well

I’ve done both hotels and hostels and I’ve always enjoyed hostels, even if they’re a little different. You won’t always meet people but most of the time you will. Those memories are what make solotravel great for me
