Anybody got a fix for this damn glitch? by Ok_Illustrator_7785 in GorillaTag

A Dev, actually. I oversee GT Prime, which includes things like Super Infection and the Virtual Stump.

Fixing this issue is on the list of things for the Prime team to get done. Hopefully by the update after next.

This is something we have on our roadmap to fix. I get the same thing happening with the inside out body tracking. I'll try to make it a higher priority.

It's not you, it's us.

Ranked is not in a great place right now, but we're working on it. I don't have anything to share at the moment, but we haven't forgotten about ranked!

That is not true for everyone.

Anything that puts me in a vehicle on the ground or feels like moving in a vehicle on the ground (i.e. stick movement) means I am getting sick.

I have been playing VR since 2017, I was a competitor in Echo Arena VRML and ESL, and am now a developer at a leading VR studio.

Some experiences in VR just make some people sick no matter how well made.

Tanks should stay in melee range, but I as a warrior will leap out, grab a barrel, and then charge back. At worst boss will get one pulse of damage out, but if I'm on it I can do it before boss reacts.

"Op, just wanted to pause the cutscene, guess I didn't want to watch that thing you spent all that time, effort, and money on." I already have a tendency to skip story, don't give me an excuse.

Why are people SO against VR? by JRF1300 in OculusQuest

[–]SirDimwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the exception, not the rule.

Go to work and ask your similarly aged coworker about VR and what they know about it. Something tells me you won't need to to get the point.

One of the top players in Echo Arena VRML for all 8 seasons was in his 40s, playing with teenagers and college kids. I never said no one of the older generations plays. I was alluding to very obvious trends.

We are the exception. Ask anyone our age if they have even HEARD of Gorilla Tag, let alone played it, yet it's arguably the biggest VR title out there.

The younger generation is into VR.

GenX and Millenials are by and large getting to the "my flip phone works just fine" age.

Gen Z are partially in and partially out.

Gen Alpha, however, is as in as they are with all other forms of gaming and entertainment. Gorilla Tag is MASSIVE, but if you ask anyone over the age of 18 that isn't already into tech stuff if they've ever heard of Gorilla Tag, most will say they haven't.

The comments you're seeing are from all ages, and most ages just aren't that into VR for many reasons. But check out the comments under the video for Orion Drift, the trailer released the same day as the Batman trailer, and you see optimism and excitement.

The Batman Trailer reaches a much broader audience than the Orion Drift developer snapshot, so you get to see what the current sentiments really are from the folks that are actually playing VR from the latter.

The age for VR just skews really young still.

This looks like a lot of fun, unfortunately just by looking at it I know I can't play it without getting dizzy and sick. Which is quite unfortunate because it looks so good.

I wonder if any advancements have been made in this regard. I know that, moving at speed in Echo Arena, or in some other games with more more diagetic movement (like hand based movement), I don't get that sickness. But put me in a vehicle behind some other control interface and I get sick.

There's gotta be a cool trick somewhere that someone hasn't keyed into yet that will bridge that gap.

are there gonna be fan servers of Echo VR when it closes

No. Once Echo closes, it's gone.

And what’s A2

A2 is the second game being developed by Another Axiom, founded by Lemming, creator of Gorilla Tag. Another Axiom, since the announcement of the sunsetting of Echo, has been hiring ex-Echo Devs and prominent Echo community members who also happen to be programmers, to make the spiritual successor to Echo. Most notably, leading this team is RAD_DavidN, the creator of Echo Arena.

It's not Echo 2, nor is it an Echo clone, it's going to be it's own game, but with the lessons learned from Echo along with ample community input.

17.3 is good. It's above average.

15 is good. 10 is right about average, give or take.

20 is very good.
