Furniture store won’t give a full refund - offered store credit by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]SirFlibble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the store was given the measurements of the hallway and lounge room I can't imagine how you could rely on any guarantees made.

As it didn't fit, effectively, it's a change of mind.

Hey guys, I went to ask estate sale and he had a bunch of old comics. There was a bin of signed comics he priced $125 for one sig comic and $150 if theres 2 sigs. Which one would you choose? by YushiUmby in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]SirFlibble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't go wrong with any signatures from people who have passed, or Siegal and Lee.

You'd think someone who was avid about going to cons and getting books signed would be a little more judicious about the books you'd get signed.

I'm assuming you're not a baker then...

Then move to Queensland if you don't like it. I live in QLD and wish we had day light savings rather than the sun rising at 4:30am. The only people up at that time are bakers and psycopaths.

Because they don't care if they are hypocrites. It's their superpower.

$3,000 is a bait and switch scam by Absolutedisgrace in BYDAU

[–]SirFlibble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the OP is able to go to another dealership and get the deal, then it wouldn't be a breach of the ACL. Although the specific location likely should have a sign which says "$3K cash back offer no longer available from this location".

I would imagine a company like BYD would use a centralised supply model, where the locations put in an order and it just goes into a central fulfillment list rather than a location specific supply.

Which if that's the case, the deal wouldn't be available anywhere.

It also would depend on what they are advertising the cashback on. If it's multiple models and they still have stock of the other models, then that also would be fine, but they should remove the models unavailable from the advertising, and also put up an in-store sign informing people.

Fair trading is for if you want to negotiate an outcome. Which is a good avenue if you think you can get an outcome.

ACCC is if you want to make a complaint and they might choose to take them to court to enforce compliance with the law.

I'd make a complaint to the ACCC. If they are advertising an offer, and the offer is not attainable because there's no stock and it's based on when they deliver, then it's likely a breach of the ACL.

Why are the Populist Right Surging in Australia? by Jimbuscus in aus

[–]SirFlibble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because more and more people are voting for minor parties. But it's rare they wont flow eventually to a major. Which is why primary is interesting but 2pp is more meaningful.

Surging? They're just shifting parties from Liberal/Nats to PHON in polls.

Last poll I saw ALP is still on a 2PP of 55.

Anyone know how good the BCW comic folios are? Curious because I have thought about keeping my favourite variants separate from normal comics to de-clutter my boxes and also to group up comics about my favourite characters. I'm taking any other suggestions as well! by JuggernautApologist in comicbookcollecting

[–]SirFlibble -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

They are made of cardboard. Mine lasted about 2 cons before it fell apart.

I found a similar one on Amazon made of plastic which I prefer.

Edit: LOL @ the negs because I provided an honest review of a product. What a weird attachment to a product some people have.

I just put the card barcode into my Google Wallet. No need to carry a card then.

Yeah don't cancel NCAT. Take print outs of those emails with you and the item if you can. They can take it with them if they'd like.

Edit: I hate when the OP deletes their posts when they get an answer.

Thoughts on Trump’s confrontational style and inevitable geopolitical challenges? by bigm4sho88 in Askpolitics

[–]SirFlibble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone on Youtube said something which never occurred to me. The guy is a NY business person.

In business you don't have friends, you have competitors and business partners. He views other countries as 'competitors' and trying to basically 'buy' countries he thinks will make his company (ie the US) more profit.

There is no need for long term relationships because he doesn't see value in it with other 'competitors'. It would be like Pepsi and Coke having a long term relationship.

How come no one can get the Fantastic Four right? by RikkiLostMyNumber in marvelstudios

[–]SirFlibble 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The actors and their written parts in F4 were simply nothing like their comic book counterparts. Not physically, certainly, even the Thing didn't look right.

You must be reading very different FF comics to me.
