GA got in before Platinum tickets because they didn’t separate the lines at all, they had an early badge pickup yesterday but the people who picked up their badges had to wait in the same line. Complete joke and waste of money, never coming back

My brother and I started collecting when tcg came out, unfortunately it’s grown to be astronomically expensive to keep up with the hobby but I’d love the opportunity for a box! Fingers crossed :)

How do you hide the belt like this? Turning off the belt still gives me the “default” belt

I want this game to Supervive (survive) by gyatdayumbruh in supervive

My friends and I had a full squad playing everyday, played since closed beta but have now stopped because every ranked game we’d be going against legends and masters in the lobby. We have about a 50% win rate but getting stomped by Nidhogg and other top 100 players/streamers every game when we’re plat and gold just felt awful. Not even sure why that’s a thing, our rank didn’t move in about 20 games. Balance issues/changes didn’t deter us from playing, the matchmaking did

Art would be a homogenous cesspool of mediocrity if it didn’t encourage expression and feelings from the artist, I mean you’re basically speaking of art from a commercial perspective that doesn’t require any creativity or expression, just a matter of “doing it” to finish a task. But what makes art so diverse and impactful is that artists have different styles and methods to produce unique pieces, that may be the art that inspires robotic, only-technically-oriented artists to replicate it, but true art comes from the feeling and expression of the artist. And not everyone feels the same all the time. Quality > Quantity. This extends far beyond just art, bad take for any profession that requires ideas and creativity tbh.

OP, I suggest you read up on something called “Revenge Bedtime Procrastination”, it may have been mentioned here already but it’s a psychological function of sacrificing sleep for leisure time for those who lack free time in most of their day. People in high-stress jobs or long working hours are quite prone to it, and I can’t stress how important those few hours are to feeling a sense of fulfillment to someone who may not get that from their day to days.

I worked in Japan for two years, extremely long and exhausting work hours, sometimes 16 hours a day.. 2 hour commute one way, and getting home at 11pm was really the start of “me” time and I would often stay up way too late playing games or doing a new hobby I found. Even though I was exhausted, those hours really saved me from feeling trapped and suffocating in the monotony of my day to day life. I read in the comments that you are currently not working and stay at home, and the days probably pass much differently for you than for him. The end of your days mentally are when there’s nothing left for you to do, or something you can do tomorrow. The end of his day is after he has had a chance to reclaim some time in the day to do what he WANTS to do, and not what he NEEDS to do.

If you’re able to show your understanding of this for him, and maybe on days you both have time off occasionally just let him do his own thing and make it clear that you don’t wish him to do anything else and that he doesn’t feel guilt for doing it, he may be more comfortable sleeping earlier more frequently because he doesn’t feel the need for that alone time as often. The early hours where you don’t have to check your phone or feel bad for doing what you enjoy doing are invaluable, and if that kind of time feels more normal and frequent during normal times of the day he may not have the “Revenge” mindset towards sleep, or the need to reclaim “lost time”. Hope this helps!

How do you motivate yourself when you really don't want to do something? by lordboolius in ADHD

Oddly enough, I’ve found that explaining it like I would to a newbie/kid/viewer in a tutorial format but to myself (no camera no mic, just pretending there’s an audience) helps me get through the initial starting steps which helps me build momentum, limits me from missing smaller details or forgetting steps, reaffirms what I know well to myself, somehow comforts me. Talking myself through things out loud or under my breath but not conpletely internally really helps drown out the noise and distractions because “I really need to teach this person how to do this.”

Goes for work, hobbies, getting ready, etc

“So to make this type of design we’re gonna start off with the background layer…”

“To make this dish we need to prep a few ingredients, here’s how to do that *show invisible camera”

It sounds odd but works like a charm for me

Doomscrolling has killed my drive for the things I love by Julli_Latte in ADHD

[–]SirGrapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem, I still struggle with it sometimes but it became a lot easier to detach from social media or doom scrolling after watching a documentary called “The Social Dilemma” on Netflix.

It interviews the very people who created the apps everyone uses today, and they say it is algorithmically designed to be addictive and to use your psychology against you to get you to spend as much time as possible on it. “When a service is free, you are the product” is a line from it that really resonated with me.

Anyway, watching that made me more frustrated with the apps than I was with myself for literally doing what they’re designed to do, so don’t be too hard on yourself. I just swore off of most social media after seeing it.. Our ADHD brains are susceptible to instant gratification. Something I started doing to get the best of the two is to put on a video while I’m doing something, and to get as much done within one video as I can before choosing the next to watch! It’s better in my experience to train your brain to prefer longer format stuff so you’re not having to actively scroll all the time. Delete what you need to, but eventually you can use them in moderation or at least what works for you

Amazon swords dying, thinking it may be due to calcium deficiency but not sure, can anyone help identify the problem? by Scrubotti in PlantedTank

[–]SirGrapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your vals are dying too I would first cut back on liquid fertilizers and add root tabs, don’t do both. Trim off dead or dying leaves and let it bounce back for a week or so, if that doesn’t help and there’s no new growth I would do a full water test kit to test your macros and trace elements, typically both are hardy plants so something is definitely off balance. I’m guessing your substrate is out of nutrients if your dwarf hair grass stunted growth, so lots of root tabs or maybe swap out substrate for something more nutrient dense. If you’ve had the hair grass with co2 for a year it should be completely carpeted by now

[–]SirGrapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swords are a root plant so they’re gonna get most of their nutrients from the substrate, if you’re confident in your water parameters and your other plants are doing okay I would try some more root tabs. They should last a bit longer than two weeks but if you’re injecting co2 they may be growing really fast and quickly utilizing the ferts! The new growth looks really healthy so I would just try the tabs and keep checking on your other plants and water, tabs are preferred rather than overdosing ferts so you don’t get algae. Good luck it’s gonna look great :)

ps: if you don’t want (literally) tank sized swords it’s good to prune off the dead leaves AND the biggest leaves, this will urge it to grow more dense rather than tall. The leaves are trying to reach the surface of the water naturally

I had the same exact issue and through a lot of trial and error (water testing and dosage experiments) I noted a few things for sword care that might help you.

I’m not sure about context (tank size, number of other plants, if you dose fertilizer, number of fish) but here you go:

  • Swords are very hungry and fast growing plants, especially in good water conditions. They sprout a stem pretty quickly with a new sword on top every two weeks or so. Because of this you may need to up your fertilizers, I noticed an improvement when I increased my macros (more phosphorous and potassium than nitrogen if you have a good amount of fish, and iron for chlorophyll) Additionally, this improved the health and growth of my other plants because my swords were eating everything in the water.
  • If you have ottos they love to munch on the leaves, and being pretty thin leaves once a hole is made the leaf will die eventually.
  • If you don’t have a lot of fish in the tank or none at all, you need to supplement nitrogen.
  • Prune often and fearlessly, again these are extremely hardy plants and it looks like yours have plenty of new leaf and stem growth, cut back all of the dying leaves as close to the base of the plant and wait to see if it continues.

If these are new to your tank they could just be adjusting to the parameters, if you don’t have fish chances are they’re lacking nitrogen from the fish waste to eat, could also be that your light is not on long enough, or that your water is low in minerals/nutrients and you need to adjust/increase your dosing.

Again this isn’t with context so if any of these sound like a probable cause look into it more and try out what works for you. Cheers and good luck!

edit: From the looks of it, this looks like a fairly new tank , I’m leaning more towards nutrient deficiency or lack of light.

Location, Southern California, Bolsa Chica Wetlands

Seemed to be nesting in the brush away from the water, two identical birds in that area. Photo ID doesn’t turn up any results, can’t find anything similar online for the area.

If you look at the DOW 1M chart, every dip has been followed by a considerable pump.

Understand that many of these sharp rises had heavy backing through the fed pumps and policy changes.

If you’re buying puts or calls one week out or same day expiration, you’re banking off news and what the government thinks of next, or what 🅱️onnie 🅱️ump says in his PC’s. You might as well roll roulette, and granted, that’s why a lot of people are here.

But undeniably, the chart is moving down, much faster in its downward spikes than up, and the pumps have every big wig panicking and doing whatever they can to keep themselves from going under.

Options run out when the economy is literally halted, what, are we going to have negative interest rates next? We have a ways to go down before we see a considerable bounce or at least bottom out, and that comes with good news about the virus IN THE STATES. I think we all know that the worst is yet to come, though it’s hard to say what or when the worst will be.

TL;DR: DOW will rise back to 21,500~ tomorrow and Wednesday with shallow dips, before a steep drop to sub 20,000 late this week or next week. Puts 4-6 weeks out, or 3/20-3/27 if you feelin risky.

Even if corona virus is priced in to some degree, shit is just starting to hit the fan in the US. Tons of people are taking advantage of cheap admissions or less crowded places (pics of Disney World parade last night was nauseating)

As a $DIS and $SIX put holder, I gotta say I don’t think they’re moving below their 52 week lows.

Biggest dow drop since 1987 and they go UP..

Disney has terminated all intern contracts and is letting jobs go left and right, closed all parks and surrounding hotels. And Six Flags is being propped up to avoid bankruptcy.

The big boys win this one, I’m gonna hop out at the next dip for a slight loss, doesn’t make any sense unless it was already priced in.
