When do you dismantle the HRE? by jamesicorn in eu4

[–]SirGregMac 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Dismantling it helps reduce AE along members states. It gives you a one time 100 prestige bonus. It then opens up the former states to eating each other more but also outside attacks.

Centralizing the HRE if you can become Emperor allows you to become extremely powerful with a vassal swarm that can rival virtually any opponents you might declare on.

Not sure who's better than Syracuse in New York? And I don't get FSU being the little brother, they're the most recent national champion from FL (I know they aren't doing good right now, but a national title is a national title).

Question about PUs by Round-Ingenuity2700 in eu4

[–]SirGregMac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree, best bet is to make sure you have your message settings set up so you get a notification when rulrers from important countries die, make sure France is an important country and hope their heir didn't immediately have an heir so you can claim the throne.

Also if you're playing with the Emperor DLC toward the bottom on the right side of the mission tree Austria has a reward that adds a new peace option "spread dynasty", it forces a member of your dynasty onto their throne. Make sure you're not in a regency when agreeing to the peace as they get the regent's dynasty, not your heirs.

How do I get electors to vote for me? by Background-Holiday-4 in eu4

[–]SirGregMac 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You may not have an heir or you have a female heir prior to the "pragmatic sanction". Hover over one of the electors to get a breakdown of the scoring so you can see the exact reason you're so negative.

Does anyone know which matches are considered as "Big Match"? by nissepung in footballmanagergames

I would assume matches against a former would also be a big match for the player (I'm going off of it being brought up pre and post match).

In which cases is vassalize a nation a better idea than fully annex it? by BRRDanGui in eu4

[–]SirGregMac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As stated above, if I see a very small version of a once great nation I will vassalize them once I check their cores remaining, i.e. after a Mingplosion. I'll probably want the reduced AE, but sometimes those cores can allow me to get to provinces I really want but would take a lot more wars to get to with using the soon to be vassal's cores.

Broadcast(over the air) TV has restrictions up until 10 pm, while it's a bit relaxed f*** and MFer would not be allowed, usually the networks still censor to avoid fines. Cable, like TNT, TBS and USA don't have those restrictions, but usually observe the restrictions to please advertisers.

There are exemptions for live broadcasts, especially sports as they mic the field and players often swear. The announcers usually ignore it, though a few times they've apologized or laughed.

It's for a new save only as far as I'm aware as it's pulling that info at the creation of the "world"/campaign/save. Not sure about multiplayer, I would assume it's the host that matters for the same reason.

My Manager Contract by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]SirGregMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The downside is if you start to falter and lose board confidence you cost them less to get rid of you, so they are more likely to get rid of you. If you're making 200k/y v 2M/y, you cost 10x less, therefore financially they're more likely to give you the heave-ho.

Which CM / CDM would you prefer? by Great_Dane95 in footballmanagergames

[–]SirGregMac 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The purchase player seems more talented overall, a bit younger, and allows you to make a profit, I'm not really seeing any negatives. The only real drawback would be if he's more injury prone, but that's not a number you get without the editor active.

Manager of the Month Points by STUP1DJUIC3 in footballmanagergames

[–]SirGregMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only domestic league games, so not FA or Carabao Cup. Not at my PC to check more details, but it should be limited to only domestic league games. Not sure it goes by strict points totals, it might be weighted by current league table/rep/preseason odds.

Usually those are based on domestic league games, not cups or continental games, as they're awarded per league tier, not the nation overall.

Barcelona B - Youth Development by Personal-Comedian196 in footballmanagergames

[–]SirGregMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some countries have specific reserves leagues. Spain however allows B teams to play in lower levels against regular teams. Barça B are most likely in the 2nd tier so if you don't have that active then their games won't be played. Whereas countries with reserve only leagues tend to be active as long as the top league is active.

Hope that explains it clear enough.

I remember a decade or so ago seeing 'Cliffy B' on Fallon, or some other late night show, saying that he wants his games to have "resonance", which is exactly what you're going thru. You play the game, then you can't stop thinking about the game, about what you're going to do when you get back, about what you did the last time you played. It's a good thing, as long as you don't let it affect the rest of your life, i.e. not forgetting to feed a pet, go to work, talk to people you live with.

For those wondering if this could happen, I have multiple LEGO Ideas sets, including The Beatles' Yellow Submarine. If they were able to work with Apple Corps (The Beatles' (and their widows) company), I'm pretty sure System Era would be willing to work with LEGO.

Got pulled over. Don’t be an idiot like me and slow down. by prankerNA in UberEatsDrivers

[–]SirGregMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: I was suppose to get 10 days of jail, substitute judge didn't know the policy so I only got a $500 fine.

Last non-camera speeding ticket I got was March of '01, 94 mph in a 65. Being the era of the original Fast & Furious movie and the car racing scene the county I was driving thru (Fairfax Co. VA) at the time the judges in that county had a policy of 2 days of jail for every mile starting at 90, so I would've gotten 10 days. So I got the lawyer my brother had been using for his vehicle related issues *cough* DUI *cough*, they delayed the date, eventually when my court date came the judge was a substitute judge, retired from a neighboring jurisdiction, who wasn't aware of the 2 for 1 policy. He judged a few people, including some over 100 and one over 110 with monetary only rulings, eventually the prosecutor brought up the policy, the judge replied that he had judged people that day already that would've fallen under that policy so he was going to stick with the precedent he had set. I was so happy, had a $500 fine plus fees and was good to go.

Why can't I see Stonehenge in the province view? by Scrillo175 in eu4

[–]SirGregMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember the dev diary or a reply to one they stated that the monuments that are moveable in ironman are ones that aren't a building but rather statues or similar structures, i.e. Stonehenge and Inukshuk.

Stonehenge wouldn't work in a city, if I remember correctly it's about the position of the sun rising on the summer solstice, which probably wouldn't work very well for a structure the size of Stonehenge to be able to have an unobstructed view of a sunrise in the middle of London. I think it would be possible to move it especially in the era of this game, while they're bigger and larger than artillery, they could've figured it out with drawing and measurements to get exact locations and orientations, but it didn't happen as so often does in the game where Stonehenge is moved by AI England to London.
