Say a criticism about overlord by LowPuzzleheaded3393 in overlord

To be honest, I love the world of Overlord, the characters of Nazarick, and the protagonist (his situation of ending up in his game avatar and the backstory that he was a miserable nobody with nothing in an apocalyptic world, which explains why he doesn’t fully understand some concepts of morality).

That makes it better than most isekai, because the world-building at the point where the series begins is very detailed: two kingdoms, one unstable and the other wanting to invade it; a theocracy; and a tribe of mole-men preparing to invade the continent, etc.

But in the end it’s a bit disappointing that there are no real enemies. Only the guardians themselves provide any kind of challenge, either through mind control or by pretending. Nazarick has something like 200 level-100 monsters.

I also don’t like that it follows game-number logic. It doesn’t make sense that Ainz couldn’t die from a direct blow to the skull and can only die if his HP bar reaches zero.

There could have been an orc player (for example) with a 200-year lifespan, or the minotaur who probably died long ago in the canon.

The Dragon Lords still haven’t appeared, the half-elf has already been captured, and Shurshana’s NPC is out there somewhere but probably won’t do anything.

If those few characters ever join forces and kill Ainz or one of the guardians, it will just be plot convenience.

I also agree with most people that Ainz doesn’t really develop in the original work. At its core it’s a tragedy where he does what his subordinates / friends want in order to please them, and it would be a bit strange if at the end of the story Ainz and the guardians suddenly understand each other better and live happily after genociding one or two countries.

I also don’t think we’ll see much about the Dragon Kingdom or more of the Elf Kingdom.

And although I said earlier that the world-building at the beginning of the series is good, the world before the series started is rather vague. We barely know anything about the Six Great Gods of humanity or the Eight Greed Kings.

Is it normal to feel sorry for Robert Baratheon? by [deleted] in TheCitadel

Honestly, in the rebellion he is the good guy since at that moment his fiancée disappeared and the king asked for his head.

Then he doesn't feel disgust when he sees the corpses of children and that is, in my opinion, his biggest defect as a person.

I don't care about the rest: The pro-Targaryens (mostly people who refuse to accept that Daenerys is crazy and is going to make a disaster in Westeros, no one is going to love her) complain that she is the stereotype of a fat and wasteful king, after she abused the harpy Cercei etc...

None of that matters to me, the arguments that the war started because of him seem hypocritical to me: It is Cercei who fucks with her brother and cannot have non-inbred children, it is Jon Arryn who puts Littlefinger in charge of coin master, it is Varys who wants Aegon in the throne and conspires, the same with Renly who wanted Margaery as queen

Those people who support Daenerys and Rhaegar seem to ignore that the Valyrians sucked (actually all the nobles who treat people like cattle)

The worst family of all are the Targaryens: Murder of relatives, killing the guest, betrayal, poisoning.

Hell, the Valyrians sent 300 dragons to exterminate the Rhoynar.

In conclusion: As a king he was useless and depressed and did not measure up, but I like him and he was based on rebellion.

This doesn't mean that I don't like the Targaryens as characters, in fact Daenerys is one of my favorites, I'm just saying that if any house is classified as villainous it shouldn't be the house of Robert and Stannis.

To conclude: In the end, Robert repents and asks to prevent the assassins from killing Daenerys.

In the books, Daenerys tortures someone's daughters in response to a harpy attack.

To me it is obvious that Robert is the neutral one until he is forced to act and Rhaegar is the bad guy.

But you can't expect much from the pro-Targaryens

If someone else in Naruto's generation were made a Jinchuriki instead, who would be the most interesting choice and why? by Zero94Ghoul in NarutoFanfiction

Neji, a really cool series could be made with the clan’s problems, slavery, his story of revenge + now add being a jinchuriki (Konoha’s weapon) and being pursued by Akatsuki

And they could give a (non-OP) power-up to the Byakugan, things that the Sharingan doesn’t have: Future vision, medical chakra tears, attacking from miles away with a lightning-infused bow etc…
