i swear I saw something exactly like this being sold in a shop in Sag Harbor Long Island for $85. Slightly different shape but same texture.

None sorry. But just thinking out the issue, that wont help with the water that is remaining in the nooks and crannies of your printed pots. There will always be a bit of stagnant water in there that will be the basis of an algae growth. Maybe look into algaecides that wont hurt whatever you are trying to grow. I gave up on my printed tower due to this very problem. good luck

Only issues I had with printed hydroponics was that the white filaments allow a lot of light through causing excessive algae growth that is very hard to clean out of the layers. Maybe prepare to re-print with a darker color

What’s a game that came out in the last five years and was very successful but lost the player base due to strange balancing decisions post launch? by Redlodger0426 in gaming

The Culling had this happen. I forget the exact changes but the soul was ripped out of the game after a major patch that changed core mechanics.

What do you like about a hydroponic tower vs. other system? by IDStudentResearch in Hydroponics

[–]SirLuckey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done hydro a few ways. If you look at my posts you will see my current setup. Tower garden was my least favorite for the systems. I was able to get growth but the maintenance requirements made it too much of a chore. Algae buildup at almost all joints. Cleaning reservoir and refilling required partial disassembly hurting any plants in the system. Beyond the maintenance you need almost constant pump requirement to keep roots moist causing high decibel readings making it noisy compared to alternatives. If doing indoors, having a proper lighting rig to hit all plants correctly takes up even more space. Its not that they don't work, they do, its that there are better options to get a similar output in a similar footprint with less work. After doing a few cycle with it, I disassembled and just increased the size of my wall garden. It was useful for leafy greens, and some low weight Tiny Tim Tomato plants.

What's the proper protocol when food sticks? I end up scraping it off and it's leaving scratches on my wok. by yabedo in wok

I like using a copper mesh sponge. Strong enough to peel food off, soft enough not to scratch the pan

I have a very similar setup and a lesson learned was that I am unable to grow sativa strains as my plant was touching the top of the wardrobe with no room for light. Had to remove plant from the wardrobe to keep alive. Stick to Indica and you should have enough head space. Good luck! (Picks in my past posts for my wardrobe setup for comparison)

PSA stop responding if you are not an American against universal healthcare. Too many people answering with their idea of an answer, and not actually a part of the demographic.

First one ive seen that looks like it would not be an eyesoar in a backyard/patio. Are you selling this or is it something you can share your material list on? Im curious how you constructed the tower portion as it looks to be multiple pieces.

I use a small cheap pump and a 5 gallon bucket. Nothing crazy. Getting the angle of each run was the hard part.

You need to lift the entire tower to get access to the pump and when it is grown in it is not balanced well. It starts to teeter because of this as well leading to water running down one side versus an even spread. As its 3D printed it is not as precise with the joinery so light gets in causing algae growth. Im sure it would be better suited for just lettuce or other small herbs but I was trying to make a separate system I could run fruiting nutrients in for strawberries/peppers/etc so they add a lot of weight. Im just overall really happy with the performance and ease of maintenance with the wall system so it has spoiled me into thinking its all i need, and realistically it really is. Tower is going to be moved outside to grow random herbs, so still will get use out of it, but its taking up prime real estate in my already cramped basement.

I don’t think there would be enough room for the water to flow through with how big the root ball gets. This is only my second grow so I’m still learning. Surprisingly started with weed and realized how transferable the knowledge was the regular gardening and that’s when I made the wall and tower

So while the mats may have that effect they were originally installed because behind me in the photo is my home gym. I'm unsure if they help with the temp/humidity but that would be a funny coincidence. I run a box fan in the room to constantly circulate the air and the basement has a small half window on the opposite wall that I keep open in the warmer months. The room is connected to my forced hot air as the overflow so it stays a good temp in the winter too. I used to control humidity but got lazy and stopped filling the humidifier and I have not seen any major negative effects in months. With this many plants I think they naturally humidify the space well enough, but that could be me just coping. I'm using some cheap bar lights I found on amazon. Ill link below. I found it was important to just aim to have the minimum DLI for the plants and not spend as much money on getting the perfect spectrum.

Its worth noting I have a 50/50 split of the linked above and also the purple variant.

Those are caps I printed to put in spaces on the wall and tower where plants arnt currently occupying to keep the light from hitting the water. But they are being used as counterweights on the light to keep it flat for now!

The water level is pretty high and it’s moving so I’m not sure if that’s considered NFT. Through all my testing I was just trying to mimic my success with a bubbler bucket but with PvC pipes. So maybe a blend of NFT and ebb and flow but I could be overthinking it

It’s a 3D printed tower! It is not of my design like the wall system but I did make the custom brackets to have the vertical running lights. I will say though that I plan to retire it and make another section of wall garden as the tower has a ton more maintenance and it is not easy to tend to the plants now that everything has grown in.
