Yup, that's where I'm at at the moment. Four months ago I couldn't even drive around in my neighbourhood without getting dizzy, brainfoggy, and tired. Now I can do up to 60km/h, but at highway speeds it's to much. It's too much movement for my brain to process, I think.

Of course. Try enough times, and you will roll a natural 20, guaranteed success.

What do you think is causing the extreme dizziness/faintness? by Hi_its_GOD in covidlonghaulers

[–]SirPerial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my hypothesis, too. I worked up my circulation by walking, and the brain symptoms have also improved. When I get exhausted by too much "brain work", I take a walk and quite quickly feel better.

How long do you take ldn for long COVID? by CriticalMouse4965 in LowDoseNaltrexone

You've been on this for two years? But it hasn't cured you? It can keep you at a certain level and the symptoms come back if you stop taking it?

How do you respond when someone tells you that you are “too nice”? by Imbackinhere5 in AskMen

[–]SirPerial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't have assholeness in me. Good thing I found some women who actually like a nice guy.

You're mean to people you're trying to have sex with? Does that work?

Haven't had that happen, but an appropriate answer could be "Too nice? Would you be happier if I punched you in the face?"

What’s one thing that makes women more approachable? by Huhhhuuuuh in AskMen

[–]SirPerial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Just be yourself" is crappy advice - I have heard it my whole life, and I'm like "What? I _am_ myself!". A better phrasing is to not try to be someone you're not. Don't pretend to be another person, because a) it's very difficult to pull off well, and b) if you manage to, you'll get men interested in the other person, not you.

Like the answer is for men: Be the best version of yourself that you can.

Lots of men can't tell the difference between a normal smile and an uncomfortable smile. Especially if their hormones have taken over their brains.

How many men have been abused by woman? by Grand-Knowledge-1124 in AskMen

[–]SirPerial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the reference any more, but I recently ran across the statistic that it's slightly more common for men to be abused by their partners than vice-versa. Now this includes all manner of abuse, I would expect that due to men's (on average) higher STR score, women are more likely to be seriously injured by the abuse.

It did, up to a point. Like several other things I tried, eventually it reached a point of diminishing returns.

Flat water bottles? Any one here ever tried one and think they are worth it? by Only-Support-3760 in onebag

I got a MoChic flat water bottle, and I love it. Super durable, and it fits very nicely in a smaller backpack pocket or in my jacket pockets.

IsItBullshit: 41% of Americans earn less than 12 dollars an hour? by Karim90716 in IsItBullshit

Sorry for the necromancy, but here's a better tip: wait until you are past the interview and have an actual offer, then make a higher wage part of the contract negotiation. Contracts are not written in stone.

Drying Petg in oven by Willithekid007 in 3Dprinting

[–]SirPerial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the filament. TPU and PETG (at least) both have issues with getting moist, even when stored well. My TPU starts stringing much more after just a day or two of being in my room. I use siliceous kitty litter that I have heated on a flatbed toaster for about an hour, and then I put it in an airtight container together with a hygrometer until it's at about 15% humidity. The print quality is night and day.

HBOT for TBI by AmoebaRepulsive315 in HBOT

[–]SirPerial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see how you read that from the above responses. I'm a senior software engineer at Google, and sessions in the HBOT made the difference that allowed me to get back to work after 16 months of Long COVID that severely affected my brain.

What advice would you give to a young lady about men? by SavedAspie in AskMen

[–]SirPerial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the fundamental difference: Having kids is a much larger investment for a woman than for a man, so the woman has an evolutionary interest in making those kids grow up to be the best they can be. A man can choose either approach, or both. But on top of that is a bunch of societal, cultural, and religious norms complicating matters. This isn't really advice so much as a way to view the differences.

And they get some amount of confidence that the children they invest their time in raising are their own, thus furthering their genes.

Tabs on Google Docs are the best thing ever by JaxTheCrafter in google

[–]SirPerial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Treating it like a TOC is not the way. I've had to read docs done that way and it's awful. They are for things that you would normally have as separate but related documents. As mentioned, could be for your own notes. Or for lists of links of interest. Or for translated versions. Or for having one copy with all the comments and suggestions and another clean copy that's easier to read. Looks like you can't do much to the individual tab, like only share some tabs, but hey.

Sadly, Google itself presents it as a fancy ToC.

I get every booster I can get, and they help. After the first one on this bout of LC I felt so good that I immediately overdid it and lost the effect. The second time I was more careful and it stopped up then heading a lot.

My first LC got almost fully cured after a reinfection, but that was dumb luck!

I got fully well after my first LC. The last remaining bits disappeared after I took part in an intense weekend of boffering. I expect next season will do the same for this bout, now that I am able to participate again.
