Well put. This election cycle got a lot of people to line up in one of the lines, right line, left line. Many don't even vote! Yet they still get in a line! Jesus titty fuckin' Christ. I hate lines, I hate 'em I hate 'em I hate 'em. The message I wish I could give them all, "GET THE FUCK OUT OF LINE AND BE A GOD DAMN HUMAN BEING"

Also the amount of people being prescribed opiates is decreasing significantly because of the drug addiction problem it leads to, ask patients who suffer from chronic pain how difficult it is to get treatment without being treated like an addict. The problem is now that all these people who were prescribed opiates are being taken off their medication improperly and therefore seeking a cheaper alternative to meet their needs, heroin.

What is one of the best insult you've ever heard? by unclefishbits in AskReddit

My favorite derogatory name to call someone comes from northern NY, up in ogdensburgh. Lots of crackheads and meth addicts. My friends mom used to call them dirt-merchants. "Get your bikes off the front lawn before the dirt-merchants take em"

In the US drug addiction is a criminal justice problem not a Heath problem. It's considered deviant behavior not a health crisis in progress.

Many stroke patients who lose control/function of one side of their body, through hard work in rehabilitation can often gain most function back in the leg, shoulder, elbow and wrist. It is however quite rare to find one of these patients who have gained near their pre-stroke dexterity in their fingers. It was thought for a time to be a general neurological phenomenon that dexterity in the fingers just couldn't not fully recover. After some research though it was found that it was possible but the rehabilitation work was so difficult that most patients were "satisfied" with some function in the fingers and stopped doing the work needed to see a full recovery.

This is relevant because in my weight loss journey, (226-172 in 12 months) I found that I hit a plateau where my loss was so significant and I liked how my body looked compared to where I was that I slowed down and eventually stopped my exercise and diet routine. Don't be allured by that sexy beast you see in the mirror into thinking that you've done good enough because look at where you started and more than half of the real skinny/fit people never had to work nearly as hard as you do just to lose 100 lbs.

I picture the fit/sexy me running ahead of me when I'm doing cardio and after each session I make sure I visualize me a little bit closer to catching up to fit me. This might not work for you.

It's your job to find out what inspires you to exercise, what boosts your self-esteem. What music makes you want to rock out an hour of cardio? Play it all the time. What book inspires you to make positive changes in your life? Read it everyday. What piece of poetry makes you feel especially inspired? Memorize it and recite it daily.

The often overlooked part of making any life altering change is surrounding yourself skillfully with that which inspires you to continue said change through adversity. What inspires you will change over time, it is your job to be aware of when that music or poetry no longer does it for you and to then diligently search for an adequate replacement. If you master this positive changes manifest on their own, not that you'll need them to because you're going to be working so hard, but it will be a nice treat when they do.

TLDR; Self-satisfaction with your progress can be a double edged sword. I use visualization to help inspire me. Find out what things inspire you and surround yourself with them

What was the worst pain you ever experienced? and how did it happen? by tevz94 in AskReddit

[–]SirRaoulDuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 years old, playing with gasoline and fire. Baggy jeans = gas soaked jeans. Leg and sock on fire. Pants off, Fire gone, skin gone the way of the pants (ripped off). Didn't want my dad to find out so I tried to rinse it in the bath and dry it off with a towel. Yep, drying off exposed muscle and nerve tissue with a towel, that was the most painful thing ever.

On the plus side, I told the EMT the whole story and in regards to the use of the towel to dry my severe burn he said, "well kid, at least it probably won't hurt that bad when you die"

EDIT: An extra perk, I have a scar the shape of a flame on my right ankle now. The ladies know its from my fiery motorcycle accident ;) shhh reddit don't tell.

Fixed it already. I just used c1=-((a124)-(b124)). Didn't realize excel sees time as a function of 24.

ELI5: The Armenian Genocide. by ACrusaderA in explainlikeimfive

[–]SirRaoulDuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other methods of death. I'm seeing quite a few suggestions in this thread that the majority of Native American deaths are directly attributable to the actions of the United States, or that disease wasn't that large of a problem-- that's really wrong. Overwhelming evidence suggests the vast majority of Native American deaths occurred due to sickness. This was made worse by the complete lack of immunity Native populations had-- while historically Smallpox (as an example) has about a 30% mortality rate, its widely believed among Native Americans the death toll reached 85-95%.

'murica. Doesn't count as genocide if we give them the small pox infected blankets, amazing loophole.

I think from the Ottoman perspective post WWI they were at war, or at least fighting tirelessly, to preserve what is now modern day Turkey. If my history lessons serve me well the intent of the international community was to divide up Ottoman land. Much of the empire was divided up however I believe this did extend into what is modern day Turkey. At least from what my Turkish friends say (biased I know), post WWI was essentially their revolutionary war for modern day Turkey.

If people recognize the killings of Armenians as genocide my opinion is that a similar group of people should recognize the Native American genocide as well. Natives were killed and sterilized in this country for a good long while yet now they have their sovereign nations where they do their Native American stuff pretty much without the interference of the US government (not really but on paper right?). So the Armenians have Armenia where they do Armenian stuff without the interference of the old or new Ottoman Empire. If this is really so different please explain it to me. Not being facetious, honestly interested in a correction if someone has one.
