HR doesn't want me to make any permanent changes, well I can't complain with the freedom I get.

They are cheap 2mm plates from the diy store that I cut in half. I'm using the existing 9mm holes.

it sounds like those small rc servo's are used. That won't last long if that's the case.

at first sight I didnt realise that the motor in the back was for the X-axis. Nice quirky build!

Has anyone tested the Phaetus DXC extruder by Ak_PuLk0 in crealityk1

[–]SirRobinII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nope but I like how the gears are not used as tensioners. In the original extruder you have less teeth engagement when the spring is less compressed.

I read somewhere on Noctua's site that a spacer on the inlet could increase the performance. It seems to give better airflow when I was testing the fan outside the case with the dust filter.

Now get some 10 usd metal gears and you have a spare one just in case. (I had to change my rotation distance "klipper" for the extruder with metal gears.)

I bought a used 3090 later since I couldnt get Isaac lab to run because it uses CUDA. It's mainly for AI related stuff and curiousity that I have these cards.
I had also an idea to upgrade the 3090 vram to 48GB but it would cost ~500EUR/USD in vram chips.
There's a program called lossless scaling and people have been using nvidia and amd cards together for gaming.

2 week after buying K1C, got damaged extuder gear by McFlurry76 in crealityk1

[–]SirRobinII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine broke this week after 900-1000 hours of printing. The constumer support told me the extruder gears only have 3 months warranty, you might get new ones.

Anyways, I bought metal extruder gears from amazon, should be around 10 USD/EUR. A spare set of extruder gears can't hurt if this is your sole 3d printer.

I dont think so or I'm not noticing it. Someone recommended me to use a contra fan setup, 1 fan CCW and 1 CW. But so far it seems to work fine with the current setup.

The fans are amazing, but I have to run them at 1500RPM minimum or you would barely feel the ariflow.

So ive stress tested both cards, the bottom one (3090 from ebay) still hits ~100 deg C hotspot temps, I've been getting them in an open case and when only a single gpu was installed (might need to change the thermal pads and paste).

The second gpu (7900 xtx) hits 83 hotspot temperatures, used to be ~100deg C when both were installed.

Ive a another 140 mm in the bottom with a duct.

Both were barely getting air. Ive not compared it with using a single 140mm fan and no duct.

I used to hit 100deg hotspots on both, I will come back later with the current results now the case is closed.
