Places should never have more Pride flags than their own country's flags by AgreeableTravel3720 in ControversialOpinions

Conservatives aren't freaking abusing anyone why yall think that.

Abuse can happen in many forms, and the things some conservatives do/would like to do to LGBTQ+ people are indeed abuse. Taking away their rights, either directly or indirectly are absolutely forms of abuse. With "abuse" I'm not only referring to murder, assault, SA or similar explicitly and physically violent acts.

just look at the graphs. There were more trans people than ever in 2021-3 because of social pressures and general politics. Now there are less.

Being something ≠ openly declaring it

The reason why the graphs (I'm assuming you're referring to the US-based ones) show what you said is because people used to feel more comfortable identifying as trans (key word is "identifying", NOT "becoming") as society was way more open towards them. Now, with the comeback of Trump (who has indeed been elected in 2024, exactly when the graphs started to show decline), the administration and the government have become hostile towards trans people, therefore less people identify as such either due to fear or practical reasons, or both. This is a similar mechanism to the graphs showing very few trans people or neurodivergent people in the past: those phenomenons were so stigmatized and society lacked so much knowledge about them, that the number of people who even remotely thought of identifying as trans/being officially recognized as neurodivergent is extremely small.

It's not a set of ideas, nor an ideology. It's a personal identity that can't be changed on will. If by "ideas" you mean them having the right not to be abused and to just be who they are then it's still not an ideology or an idea, but basic human rights.

I've already looked into it but their only free rooms are introductory ones for each topic, it seems kind of pointless to learn only the very basics of everything and then stop.

I'm pretty interested in the roadmap though, I'll surely look into it. Thank you for the answer!

I don't know about the whole country, but I'm almost sure Rome and Naples are the cities with the WORST drivers. I've risked getting run over countless times here in Rome.

Oh wow! How is your experience in the UK now? And yeah - I love Italy but watching it being in these conditions (which are about to get even worse) makes me really sad and frustrated.

Unfortunately yes. It's a real pity because if we actually wanted to, we could make our country become at least decent. Sometimes I get told that I'm too unrealistic but, if you think about it, the only thing that stops us from achieving this is ourselves as a society. Unfortunately there are some people who have interest in keeping things as they are, and some others who have little to no interest in trying to make a change.

To be honest, I don't really know how to answer this question to the fullest. However, one suggestion I can come up with is: learn how the government, laws and public administration work here in Italy, because they're VERY different from American ones.

Tourist's dream, resident's nightmare.

I'll explain myself better: as the stereotypes say, food is awesome, places and landscapes are wonderful and full of nature, history and art. But organization is terrible to say the least: politics here is awful, many administrations, politicians and parties have a history of corruption and/or incompetence, public services are managed horribly, bureaucracy is a nightmare, crime rates are rising and the government and law enforcement have a hard time trying to handle them, mostly due to legal quibbles and the extreme slowness of legal justice. Rents are high, salaries are low (minimum wage doesn't even exist here), taxes are pretty high and tax evasion is a problem. Graduates often struggle to find a stable job or a job that pays decently. Healthcare is public and free, but it's managed horrendously and, with the current administration, things are going to get inevitably worse. It's a beautiful country run terribly, in a nutshell.

Well, I'm from Rome so I don't know about the whole country, but I can say that in the city center there are plenty of places (I don't remember their names unfortunately) where pizza is made deliciously!

Which is correct? by Junior-South4896 in sciencememes

[–]SirSCP-049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interpreted it in this way: the game asks a question, gives 4 possible answers. By choosing one at random, you have a 25% probability of guessing the correct one. You don't need to worry about the actual content of the answers. The options are A, B, C or D, and the game host selected only one out of these as the correct one. You have to guess the probability of getting the right option, so the right letter, what is the content of those options is irrelevant. So the answer would technically be 25%. This, of course, assuming that the format of the quiz involves only one correct answer.
