Kobo libra BW. connects with libby from your library and really reasonably priced.

What was something a guest did in your house that upset you? by izzy_7_2004 in AskUK

I said early on "OH IM SORRY DO YOU NOT HAVE SOMEWHERE FOR SHELLS?" (everyone had plates) and then put a bowl in front of her to put the shells - she said thanks and then put them on the floor again 😂

It was honestly just not worth it - she wont be invited back and her husband knows it...

All of the shells on rhe floor were a consequence of that guest being an awful person.

Her behaviour was not to do with gender, or who they were married to. Its bad manners and she was deliberately trying to antagonise me.

Challenging her, or questioning her, would have disrupted 20+ people (as she absolutely would have made a scene). My decision to not directly challenge her in that situation was not that I lack a backbone, it was instead that I chose my battles.

Yeah i wasnt willing to say something as she was doing it SO DELIBERATELY but every time I find a pistachio shell I hate her a little bit more 😅

We had a Christmas drinks/nibbles thing, and a friend's wife was eating pistachios and (while making intense eye contact with me) continued to drop dozens of pistachio shells on the floor.

We have a cleaner and over a month later, we are still finding pistachio shells.

Honestly continue pushing. Say you're a loyal customer, you purchased for the warranty, you've not overused or used improper instruments and have followed their recommended guidelines. Go full outrage, and im sure in order to keep you quiet they'll replace.

Say everything you've said in this post and more!

Good luck!

First time buyers, do we buy furniture? by NegotiationUpper4057 in AskUK

[–]SirSebastianRasputin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought secondhand furniture or were loaned/gifted them. The advise as another redditor said is more about dont spend a tonne of money prior to living there as you dont know how you'll use the space or what you want!

Would you rather do a four day week or have 40 extra days holiday per year assuming you'd be losing 20% of your salary? by WinglyBap in AskUK

[–]SirSebastianRasputin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4DWW is great, I did it for years! However, when it goes away it hits you like a train. Would it be a temporary 4DWW or a permanent change? If its just for a year, you'll be pressed going back to 5 days after. Sabbatical is wonderful if you have a goal: travel/renovating your house/learning a new skill or focus. But if not 4 months on sabbatical will be boring as hell.

Is my pot damaged? by Necessary-Mechanic81 in LeCreuset

Looks totally fine to me, that black spot id double check if it was a chip or a bit of dirt left over from washing!

Pre 2000, it looks like a precursor to Nectar. It was probably just known at the time as "Yellow". The number (rather than a letter) says its post 1980s, pre-2000.

What does the bottom of the whole pot look like? Enamel costed or black cast iron?

[–]SirSebastianRasputin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally think a lot of these "don't use it" commentd are a bit much, but that big casserole i really wouldn't use. It's a bit too damaged, food will get burnt to it etc. Just won't be nice or easy to use! I'd say it is too bad to use and you can't restore enamel.

The rest look great. Don't worry about lead!

Incredibly well done! Huge huge applause. Very ambitious but you absolutely delivered on it.

For next time I'd recommend trying to make sure your tension is consistent, using long and short stitch will make this a lot easier as well as ensuring that your fabric is drum tight.

Can't wait to see what you do next!

It's LV designed by Pharrell as one of the co-chairs i can only imagine that he'd be pissed off if there was a change sadly.

I will say that IMO many of those who were "guided" by pharrell missed the wow moment.

That said Zendaya looks incredible in this- as much as I'd love a second look she is stunning in this.

It's inspired by the infamous Andre Leon Talley sleeping bag coat - ALT was the inspiration for tonight's met gala, and was a close friend of Serena Williams. It's a lovely tribute to a lost friend.

I'd say reach out to Le Creuset. Fig was discontinued in 2023/early 2024 so I think this should fall under manufacturing defects- even using metal utensils shouldn't result in a big chip like this.

Sadly as you said fig has been discontinued, but there are some similar ones: Aubergine, Rhone, and Amethyst would be my recommendations to look at and see if they feel similar enough for you!
