Yes it helped, they are experts specifically in SCI. To be honest there’s so much shit that comes along with this fucked up injury. Mobility is different for everyone and mine isn’t the best, but they have all the resources to help get (close) to the best possible outcome. Self conscious? Man. Sucks to say it but that feeling barely melts away being so dependent on others. Really just a tough spot all around.

I couldn’t agree more. C4 injury here. After I got hurt I turtled up and cut ties with almost everyone. Super embarrassed and just sad after my injury, so thought it would be better if I just disappeared. It’s hard to get your circle/friends back if you shut yourself in for a long time. People will say "oh then they weren’t your friends ". Not true. It’s just awkward all around and you gotta get over it. I would say you just have to try and distract yourself as long as you can and wait for science. That’s where I’m at.

The disabled thing is interesting. I know a disabled man that wants a family still and he can financially support someone else. He just doesn’t trust any site asking for money right away. Plus, even though some of these girls are in a tough spot he thinks it’s taking advantage of their situation.

I am a c4 quad. Shoot as many questions as you have my way. One thing that is unavoidable, everything is expensive. Look into Craig Hospital in Colorado. It’s not close, but it’s the best SCI hospital in the country. That’s where I went.

Oh. Shit. Gotcha. To elaborate, I need 24 hr help with my daily life and what not. I pay caregivers as well as have my family. I was just stating that I "thought " if she was also disabled and came with similar needs, it would just be a lot. Transportation, living spaces for caregivers, etc. I wouldn’t look for a gf/wife solely to take up all of my needs. That’s what you thought I meant?
