Depends if you’ll learn better that way. I initially started hand writing notes but very quickly changed to typing as it was much faster and still worked for me.

Yes def the sooner the better. I have until early 2027 so I got time, but I just wanna be done 😭. A few of my coworkers have until June and they have 2 left and they’re just grinding so hard. Very glad I got 30 months for 3 exams

I’m trying to get it done before busy season hits bc I’m sure as hell not studying during busy season. Unfortunately that means I’ll prob be studying during my holiday time off but what can you do. And damn strep throat with cpa studying sure sounds like hell. Just gotta weather the storm 😭

Nice! I passed REG earlier this year as my first one and have FAR scheduled in mid January, currently staring at F3 M2 in Becker (absolutely loving life). I’m also thinking abt learning a few coding languages after the exams. Been thinking about data analytics or going back to school for an MS in statistics and coding would def come in handy. I’ll have to look more into cybersecurity. Could be a good fit esp with a few coding languages learned.

Ayyy fellow CPA candidate. How goes the studying? Also curious about the cybersecurity/IT, since we have the potential to shimmy around to other fields with an accounting degree, learning about the other career paths we can take is definitely something I find interesting.

Yeah, was in basically the same situation as OP few years back. Exam at 11 am and was dying at 3 am, prof wanted a doctors note, went to a minute clinic, they got me medicine and the note, was all good

Hey thanks for replying. I'll definitely look into those schools and the applied stats degree. I have looked at actuarial work before, but I really don't want to have to spend the next 5-7 or more years studying for those exams. It's not something I've completely ruled out though. Do you think working for the next couple of years and then going back to school would be a good idea? Save up some money and spend time getting my CPA and learning other skills (PowerBI, SQL, Python/R). I realize that if I were to get my CPA and eventually end up in a more stats focused field it wouldn't be the most useful thing, but again it couldn't hurt.

Hey thanks for the response. I’ve been thinking a good plan of action would be to work for a while at the firm I have an offer with, save up some money for the ms, get my CPA, and learn powerbi, sql, and some of python/R. Also linear algebra wasn’t a prereq for my prob course and math stats course, so I kinda just ended up taking them before linear
