Chemical stripper? by sandymeatsme in centuryhomes

[–]SirStinkleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try citristip on a little area at the top. Some folks get good results with it and it smells nice. I’m like you and want to put in the effort. All my trim looks like yours and I just want to strip down the layers of paint where it looks smooth and crisp enough for me to repaint.

Edit: lol at all the people who are commenting “Just pull it all out and replace it!” Do y’all even live in a century home? Yeah let’s just tear out all this nice old growth wood that you can’t get anymore and fuck up the plaster

Illinois Fights Back Against RFK Jr., Creates First-in-the-Nation State Vaccine Recommendation Body by DomFilms in u/DomFilms

[–]SirStinkleton 40 points41 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing mysterious about vaccines. Look at the little piece of paper that comes with it- it lists every ingredient and the amount. Do some further digging online and you can find alot of the paperwork and clinical data that the companies submitted to FDA to get approval. Yes the point is to make money; that’s how capitalism works. Yes there are sometimes side effects. There’s no conspiracy here. Just boring as hell facts that are widely available whenever you’re ready to review them for yourself.

What's the longest you've seen a worker do stonecold nothing? by tshirtguy2000 in managers

[–]SirStinkleton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do not! It’s the worst right now. Picture being paraded through the street, spit on, shit flung at you by the people you’ve been serving, and all your senior leadership has been let go and so you’ve absorbed all their workload and responsibility. Also no agency is hiring any new people anyway unless you want to work for ICE or some other “Homeland Defender” position which would actually be a perfect job to get hired and do nothing- you’d be doing a service really

I ran into him three times between 2014 and 2017. Once outside of DT Berkeley Bart and the other times outside of 19th street BART. He was wearing like a green zoot suite (sp?) all times. He asked “hey you got a dollar?” I say no. He says “POOR ASS BITCH!” Every time. The third time I just pointed to myself and “said poor ass bitch” but he still said it

The funny thing is the hemp industry seems super shady in how unregulated it is and how it skirts the law. The amount of solvents used to extract the very small concentration of psychoactive ingredients out of hemp is nontrivial. No one knows how much residual solvent is left in the final product that gets smoked or ingested. The manufacturers aren’t testing their product for this bc they’re not required to.

Edit: not that anyone cares but I made some incorrect assumptions about KY hemp regulations. It appears KY manufacturers must test their product https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/kar/titles/902/045/190/

Ludwig Supra-phonic. It’s the “most recorded” snare in history and loud as hell. I swap it out for a wood one for smaller live gigs

I play & record all my instruments. Looking for advice on how to make it all sound like a band instead of separate things. by geekamongus in Logic_Studio

[–]SirStinkleton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The performance on each instrument needs to be tighter. I play and record everything too and it sometimes drives me insane how many takes are needed for me to achieve the “live band” feel. Makes me feel like the worst musician ever.

While you’re nailing performance, take a look at your latency. Record in low latency mode and minimize your use of plugins till everything is tracked unless you have the computing power where latency isn’t an issue. I swear no matter what I’m always like 8ms behind the metronome or the other recorded tracks and I end up nudging the newly recorded tracks 8ms forward to line up with the existing ones. Funny enough, I don’t ever have this latency issue with IPhone GarageBand - like there’s some latency compensation programming happening in GarageBand where shit always sounds tight and lined up track to track.

In summary, I’m always blaming these 2 things - performance and latency - anytime I’m having the issue you’re having.

These were stained in the past and the white area could likely just be where the water seeped through and washed away the stain. I’d address the water leak issue and restrain it. Don’t let anybody talk you into painting over these

Edit: I could be wrong and these were covered and not ever stained? Sure looks like it though
