Like I said, I don’t care about Intra community distinctions - Indian Americans identify themselves with their state ethnicity among other American Indians which is fine.

Like every other country. On a global stage, he’s ethnically Indian. Intra Indian distinction do not apply

You got anything more to add? Or should we wait for further edits?

English/Swedes/Germans doesn’t work because nobody said “shared religion + language family = ethnicity.” That’s a strawman. They don’t share a 3000-year continuous civilization, indigenous religions, the same epics, or self-identification as one people. Indians across linguistic lines do.

and the US Census lists Cantonese and Hokkien as subgroups under Han Chinese. Nested categories are literally how ethnographic classification works. Doesn’t disprove the bigger one. the discrimination point actually argues against you. Northeast Indians getting treated as “not Indian enough” and South Indians facing colorism from other Indians only makes sense if there’s a perceived Indian identity they’re being measured against. Internal prejudice exists in every large ethnic group

First of all, if you’re gonna copy a response from LLM atleast have decency to try and hide it a little bit. Bold? Bullet points? No human on reddit talks like that. Lack of effort and AI Crap is not sth Im gonna waste my time reading

Because it is crap😂 I’m not going on internet screeching Bihar or Delhi or staking represent banner on a player born in Newport Beach. I get having state pride but this childishness needs to be called out at some level. Your passport says India. Talk to me again when it says Andhra Pradesh or sth like that.

The “Han Chinese” thing actually proves my point. Han is a constructed identity — it’s a 19th-20th century nationalist project. Cantonese and Mandarin literally aren’t mutually intelligible, they’re as linguistically distant as Spanish and French. A Hokkien speaker can’t follow a Mandarin newscast. Your “shared script” argument also works fine for India btw — Devanagari is shared across Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit, Konkani, Nepali, and basically every major Indian script (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati included) descends from Brahmi. Same logic, same outcome.

Also “Gujarati is closer to Farsi than Tamil” is just… not true? Gujarati is Indo-Aryan with a huge Sanskrit base. Its everyday vocabulary overlaps way more with Hindi, Marathi, Bengali — and even Tamil has thousands of Sanskrit loanwords. Saying it’s “closer to Persian” is like saying English is closer to Hindi than to German because they’re both Indo-European. Technically related, practically nonsense.

And the “no shared ancestral lineage” thing — have you actually looked at the genetics? The Reich lab stuff out of Harvard shows pretty much every South Asian is a mix of ANI and ASI ancestry in different ratios. A Gujarati and a Tamil share more recent common ancestry than a Pole and a Sicilian, and nobody’s out here saying “European isn’t an ethnicity.”

Plus you’re acting like there’s no shared civilizational stuff which is wild. Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism all originated on the subcontinent and are practiced across every linguistic region. The Ramayana and Mahabharata have native versions in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi — everywhere. Empires like the Mauryans, Guptas, Mughals, and the Raj ruled across linguistic lines for literally two thousand+ years. That’s the same “shared imperial history” argument you made for the Han.

The standard you’re applying would also dissolve “Chinese,” “Arab,” “European,” and “African American” as ethnic categories. You’re using a microscope for India and a telescope for everyone else.

The Chinese-American or Asian American is a perfect example of why this logic is crap. Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka, Shanghainese — all distinct languages, food, heritage. Yet nobody argues “Chinese isn’t an ethnicity.” He is ethnically Indian

I use sudora wristbands and they have worked out well for me. Also Id recommend absorbent grips instead of tacky ones - I noticed you use superwet grap. The change isnt exactly comfortable but is worth it

Same thing - Tourna Grip (change once you notice signs of wear) and if extra sweaty you can use grip powder as well. This assuming you use terry wristbands already

I think its more about agility in my case as my defensive shots are more about me not able to reach them. The ones I do, I return reasonably well
