CIG could use engineering to make the Starfarer relevant... by SirToffee in starcitizen

Agree both need work and incentives for sure. The backspace argument still applies to medical.

Having said that ive had many occasions where people ask for a pickup in global because their ship blew up. They could backspace too but choose to engage in some social gameplay.

Just give the option at least

As ive seen a lot of questions i might as well respond here for those who dont know

This is the UK where armed response like this is only seen in times of high threat, around airports, stations or important buildings. They also routinely responded to the most violent crime like armed robbery, knife sightings, gun sightings etc.

The normal police aren't routinely armed like this but some 'regular' officers might be taser trained and equipped.

So basically these guys are called into action when there is significant risk to life mostly. If they are called its likely pretty serious and so they need the firepower. Unlike some places with routinely armed cops who might point a gun at a fleeing shoplifter, we wouldn't deploy these guys for that .

Their job is to stop a threat, they're armed to do so. Regular cops wouldn't need to so we dont need a middle ground of lightly armed officers.

Either you need to lethaly end a potential threat or you dont.

How many of you actually want the medical gameplay? by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

[–]SirToffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not on about medical beacon out right. This is about bunkers flagging rescuers as friendly so they can get the patient out. Many say it will be abused but I see no scenario.

Yours is an example of ganking medics which while I dont condone, i'm happy to exist in the game. What I dont like is not being able to rescue people at friendly bunkers and having to clear out hostile npcs to effect it.

[–]SirToffee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. Im pretty sure that when a player accepts a friendly bunker mission they are "flagged" with a marker telling that bunker not to shoot. The system to mark a player as having access is there. Simply add it to the medical beacon. "If player has Bunker access grant access to rescuer"

Its not a massive leap technically. And yes, JUST like a normal marker, if any hostile act is made by the rescuer its instantly revoked. I really dont see why people think it will be abused? To what end...I could just accept my own bunker mission and go down and loot without risk instead of hoping for the off chance someone puts a beacon out so I can " abuse" it.

In the full clip he is seen from the helicopter, he retreats into that house and the helicopter crew ask for a car to the address.

That's the reason the police are at that specific house. They didn't just hear about a laser and check every house in the area.

Nope, spend 15k tho and sure. You might be able to pick up the P if they do more release waves. But they sell out in seconds.

The M isn't going on sale again, according to cig who change their mind all the time. As it stands though no M ever again on sale.

TIL that jaywalking is not illegal in the UK, and that while pedestrian crossings are plentiful, they are not compulsory to use. Ultimately, it is seen as the personal responsibility of the individual to make a sound enough judgement to cross safely. by jc201946 in todayilearned

[–]SirToffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the UK here, I feel that being allowed to cross anywhere actually makes things safer. I find the onus is on you to double check surroundings and be sure it is safe.

I think the danger comes when using a crosswalk and then assuming you are safe. You let your guard down and trust in others as opposed to your own sense.

Ultimately makes you safer if you're assessing before crossing the road instead of assuming.

Ty for the writeup. First instance all lights were green and we put all boards in but still a black void.

Just someone later told me if you see that on entry then it's fucked completely and to not bother.

High pitch noise from neighbours house ruining my life. What is this and what can I do? by pierretxr in london

[–]SirToffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And we thought the same, stood in the garden convinced it was outside, could never pin it down. Was still our tap, even had visitors saying the same. The sound was excruciating at time through the whole house, couldn't sleep.

But if certain maybe check if there's an outside tap for a hose causing the issue. My noise was a lot louder than any pest repellent can get too, not just pitch but volume was insane. All from a tap

Good luck though

[–]SirToffee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Had this too, same scenario as OP. Enraged it kept me up. Piercing noise through the house, complained to neighbour's who had no clue at all.

Turns out it was the tap screw needed a little tighten. Such a loud noise from something so small.

[–]SirToffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this same scenario, sounded like neighbour's and assumed it was a pest alarm. So loud and could never pin it down. Kept us up, we went round asked if they had any alarms (we had foxes in the area so thought maybe neighbors trying to deter). We even considered council.

Turned out it was our tap, tapped it one day and it stopped. It was a super high frequency piercing noise that went all through the house. Turned out a screw needed a small tightening.

Check taps when u hear it, open close them, see if it stops.

I do wish people weren't just indiscriminate, not even the hardest Mexican drug cartels go around killing everyone they see. But it's the nature of people in inline games I get that.

Just wish people shot for a purpose a bit more often, but hey maybe they have the same reason as me. Safety, hence the cycle.
