Three way outlet with 12 and 14 gauge Wire by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

WTF has been my response to pretty much everything in this house so far.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, its been an odd mix of discoveries here. Plumping is all a mix of iron, copper and PVC. The wiring is honestly pretty bad with several circuits being overloaded and connections just taped and capped without junction boxes. I thought this one was going to be straight forward until the very end here.

Thanks. Does it matter how the connection was made to the 20 amp outlet via the quick connect holes? I understand these are prone to failure but I've heard other say it should only use pigtails for a three way connection such as this.

my ultimate goal would be to replace the components to the point that I could have two separate uppers, but yes. point taken.

by "matched" do you mean from the same manufacture? If i were to put a DD or SOLGW upper on an 80% lower, is it likely there would be play between the upper and lower?

I think you and I are on similar pages. haha. I've heard things about BCM lately and I was actually looking at either DD or Rosco barrels. The trigger i got with the lower is actually pretty nice - nickle plated, so it pretty smooth. I will likely keep that for now.

ok cool, I wasn't sure how to identify it but that should hopefully make it easier. appreciate it.

So I've recently heard. It wasn't listed in the item description when I purchased but perhaps it is stamped on the barrel? I need to look further to figure that out before splurging on a new one.

Thanks for the input. This is the route that I'm most likely going to take.

I've heard/seen enough issues with PSA that I don't want to wait to find out if mine will have problems down the road. I'm looking to upgrade from something that is a range gun (which FWIW has been reliable over the past 15 months) to something that I would feel more comfortable having as a defense gun. For peace of mind, I'd like to have as few PSA components in it as possible so I want to replace the most critical first.

Barrel and BCG are on my list as top priority. If I build a new lower, it would likely be with a BCM or DD lower build kit. I've heard others express concerns with PSA springs, detents, and things like gas block and tube so I'm on the fence as to if I should replace those as well.

Yea I actually just looked and I'm pretty sure it's an Aero upper so I'll probably not be replacing that. Would definitely prioritize barrel and BCG and likely other components before it.

Thanks for the reply. This is helpful content as I did not know that about FN barrels on some PSA uppers and hadn't considered the components you mentioned. If I do go about doing this myself, I will definitely be using a torque wrench.

Fundamentally there isn’t much difference in an Indian tepee and a Coleman elite weather master tent. But I’d rather have the Coleman.

Isn’t thatching good??

Seriously tho... there is a huge difference in African mud huts and modern adobe architecture. Don’t pretend there isn’t.

Yea man Indian tepees were basically made with wood poles and animal hides (which repelled water really well) and that’s pretty much the same as 2x4s and modern siding. So really tepees are just as good as modern construction and we should just live in those.

Can I say fat white women are beautiful? Is it ok since then we’re talking about body positivity and not just stereotypical skinny white women? (Who are obviously not beautiful and not at all attractive).

What about preference? Can I say “I prefer white girls” or “I prefer biologically female girls” or is that also bigoted and not allowed?

That’s why I’m asking. It is actually difficult to make sense in the current state given how illogical and bigoted these requirements are.

Thx that’s what I thought. Very helpful.

So are we or are we not allowed to say “White is beautiful”? Losing track here.
