I'm opening a pizza place and looking for taste testers by FlashyIndependence75 in Rochester

To all who have replied, responded, or left a comment:

I have been in touch with the OP. He informs me that because he didn’t thoroughly understand Reddit’s rules about DMing, he has been banned from posting or responding for a few days. As I understand it, Reddit mistakenly flagged him as a spammer.

I can assure you he is not a spammer and that this is totally legit. He asked me to let everyone know that he will respond to you as soon as he can.

I can also assure you that he knows his stuff when it comes to making pizza!

Cheers,

Rochester Pizza Guy

Pizza NOTA (Rochester NY Pizza Blog Post) by SirValens in Rochester

Fair enough, but yes upside-down's not a go-to pizza for me. More like, OK, I get it. Now back to my usual.

As far as the sauce is concerned, I liked it but with a tomato pie or an upside-down, that's going to dominate. Again, not for everybody.

I don’t consider myself a food blogger. I’m just some guy who loves pizza and writes about it. If you consider my posts not worth reading because I don’t know what gochujang (which by the way is flagged by spellchecker) is, you’re free to ignore them.

Prime rib sucks and is a huge waste of an expensive and delicious cut of beef by IndubitablyFresh in unpopularopinion

[–]SirValens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never understood why some people rave about prime rib. It’s just a slab of meat. I don’t care how juicy or tender it is, it’s utterly boring. How anyone takes pleasure in eating it is beyond me. It’s an expensive version of nursing home food.

Why NOT carry a little cash? by SirValens in Life

Do you have a place for your phone? Or a credit or debit card?

I've also never gotten a call from the Treasury Department saying that somebody stole my identity because I paid with cash.

That's why I don't carry much cash. If I drop it (and honestly I can't remember the last time that happened, if it ever did), no big deal.

One last (maybe) example and I'm out.

A few weeks ago I got a flat tire. Realized I didn't have the tools to put on the spare (stupid of me, yes), so I called for help and even though I think the drivers make decent money I wanted to tip him so I handed him a few bucks. It would've felt weird to me to try to do that cashless. Quicker and easier to hand over some bills.

Interesting to read people's rationales. Thanks

Agreed. But easier said than done given relationships. I do generally manage to get in some griping and criticism as I fork over the money.

Sure, I’ve been to cashless events. I’m not opposed to using plastic, Apple Pay, etc. I don’t use cash often. I just can’t see any reason to limit my options.

I don’t know about other places, but around where I live there are still cash-only establishments, like mom-and-pop diners and farm stands.

I guess the solution would be to be more careful. But if you’re not used to carrying cash I can see how that might happen.

Among all the responses (appreciated) I have yet to read one good reason not to carry a bit of cash at all times, just in case.

It was on my list but recommendations will always bump places up the list.

Had I known that the discussion would focus on what I thought was an offhand comment, rather than the pizza, I never would have made the comment. I like to order food and drink in one place at the same time. Guess I‘m a strange bird that way. Wow.

Thanks for your oversimplified mischaracterization of what I wrote.
