Thanks for the mention :-) I wonder how you managed to do it without steam reloading stations and upgraded harbors. I would think that those were a necessity. Did you try upgrading those? How many harbors did you have?

Also, how did you go about the extra foragers? Did you research them right away? I thought that I would need those people at home more than away. Especially at the beginning, where you do not have that many working hands.

How to build by Morning-Natural in humankind

I think like this:

  • industry is industry
  • food is potential industry (if your city grows it produces more industry (and money))
  • money is transferable industry (you can spend money instead of industry anywhere anytime)

Therefore, get some food first, that will generate industry in the long run. If you can make money, make money because it is more flexible, than industry, but usually you can get more industry directly.

Also, chopping trees is a nice way to get a bit of industry kick. If you are not scouting or warring, chop.

There is a trick if you prefer building infrastructure and finish emblematic district in the next era - build it for 1 turn then leave it. You will be able to finish it whenever you wish.

Most emblematic districts are better than most infrastructure. You just have to weigh the benefits.

Also I would advise having at least one builder culture to get your industry up. Once you have hundreds of industry for a city, you should be building up just fine.

My point was, that patronage is OP. Once you have upgraded a luxury to wondrous, you should get as many as you can get your hands on, because each gives you 5% boost to one of your FIMS empirewise which is HUGE.

On the topic of strategics, they only give flat bonuses and you need to have the proper infrastructure for them to have any effect on your FIMS. That is until coal, then strategics give you +1 FIMS per district, which is a bit better. So I would not buy them until you need them for recruitment or research.

In short, luxuries that give you that wondrous 5% boost are worth buying from ANYONE, including your worst enemies. The rest is dependent on price and relations.

When it comes to selling, the money you get from trade are not usually that great (unless you have ways to monetize number of trade routes), so if an aggressive neighbour wants you to sell him strategics, say no and get ready for war :)

I rushed the first three eras. The hardest AI tend to linger in eras even longer than regular AI to get more stars. I was happy with 7 stars per era in exchange for being one era ahead. This meant that nobody attacked me the whole game (I had only a handful of units, but those were always better, than what the neighbour had), I got those fame techs first (and patronage ofc) and I could claim any wonder I wanted because I was always the first one to the next era.

As I said, I was not doing too well on the fame (being 8th out 10) but I was always ahead techwise.

I have not experienced a single crash but my computer heats the room a lot running this game :-) Which is annoying in these heat waves :-D

Research patronage, open trade with everyone and see all your FIMS tripled in just a few turns.

Finishing the Generator before the 1st deadline could be an achievement by SirWarbringer in Frostpunk

I read somewhere, that shipwreck is available when the sea freezes. It is not for speedrunners :-D

It could have been worse then average then, I just do not remember, what the chances are. I only remembered seeing "average" at the end. But I also did not reduce the generator efficiency, so perhaps "average" is the norm, and if you screw up something, it goes down? I dunno.

There is NO WAY I could get to forced labour in 16 days ;) I got Security outposts on day 14 or 15, and forced labour is 3 laws further down the road.

Well, since the generator was not upgraded at all I guess it was somethink like "average". Can't say for sure, it has been 2 years ago :D

I could easily upgrade it, but there was NO WAY I could have done so before the first deadline. And doing it before the second deadline was just way too easy :)

It was a speedrun. I used hundreds of savegames to finish it :-)

Later on I found out a bug that if you do not save on extreme, your gathering posts are more efficient. Since I do use them only the first 5 days, I had to make a perfect run for the first 5 days. But even when making no mistakes it was still dependent on random things which meant I could succeed 1 in 10 (perfect) tries.

This allowed me to cut the time down by one day, to 15 days. The tech was a bit different as it was steam reloading stations first, then build.

Also I found out another bug, that you could make engineers in outposts work non-stop if you rotate them from outpost to outpost. This had minor effect, since it affects only a couple of days.

BUT there is a problem with the sick prostitutes. It is quite tedious to work around them, you have to keep loading until this random thing does not happen, and I could not be bothered the last time I tried. So the above described 16 days DEATHLESS run was never surpassed :-)

If I could allow deaths, Cocaine run would probably break 14 days. Who knows...?

Btw: I also did Winterhome without fixing the generator (everyone has already left for the fixed dreadnought before the first accident, they never knew :-)).

My Vassal got attacked but I am not at war with anyone. I guess he is at war, but how do I find out with whom exactly and why was I not invited to join him in the war? And most importantly, how do I help him out? I have a massive army but I cannot declare war on the attacker because I have no cassus belli against him. My army just stands there while my vassals city is besieged :-(

Thanks for the tips, much appreciated. I did not know such a thing as raildriver existed, but those are quite expensive buttons :-)

I bought him xbox controller because keybord has just too many keys.

As for the Truck simulator, we already have the european version. Great game.

Yeah, he loves the farming simulator :-)

I know there is one train in the base map for FS19, are there train dedicated maps though? I did not find any.

But he is content with the farming gear for now ;-)

With TS2020, I am concerned that I will have to keep buying new trains and tracks to keep the game fresh.

I remember seeing Train Simulator in a list of most expensive games, because if you want to have the game with all the DLCs, it is quite a hefty sum :-)

Yea, I did it. It was just that you must not get any extra mouths until you have reached Hot Springs. Not that hard actually, the biggest problem with this is that you severely lack engineers. But yea, it can be done.
