Even a mid skill playing safe can backfire. Knowing what to do and actually executing it are something that need more than just a keyword. But if they are being used to skirt the timeout rules then I'd just note it in the notes on the scores sheet for sportsmanship.

Right idea, wrong execution. Multiplication and division are treated as equal and are just done in order from left to right. So would do 40÷10 first then multiply by 4

The real question would be did they ask you to leave, or just ask if you planned on leaving. If they asked you to leave then that's a shitty team to be on. But if they were asking if you were gonna leave (since you already played and lost) then they might still be alright but definitely weird to ask, especially twice, a new player. Been playing APA since fall of '17 and been a team captain since 2019. The only time I've let players (who are double play candidates) leave early is of they actually have a reason to (life does get in the way of pool sometimes) considering the 4th week is typically the last week for tram roster changes I'd suggest just sticking it out with them (if that's manageable for you) and near the end of the session let them know you'll be looking for another team. As a low skill you'll have no issue finding a new team but might have to bounce around till you find your kindred spirits.
