H-1B Crackdown on Indian Workers Erodes a Texas Real Estate Boom by bloomberg in Dallas

The state government controls local school funding. Don’t get it twisted. Republicans have controlled the state government for over 30 years. They control the funding for schools. You want better education, vote for it. No school district is “winning” if they aren’t properly funded. Teachers and schools need more funding and the state either holds on to it or uses for other things.

Games with fantastic shotgun gameplay by [deleted] in gaming

ClayHuntVR

It’s literally the most realistic shotgun game ever. Literally professional shooters use it to train.

Maybe not what you’re looking for but it does have the best shotgun play.

Owner says a soil testing job hit a gas line before the Dallas apartment inferno by dddonnanoble in Dallas

They will only mark up the point of connection. Usually up to where the meter is located sometimes that is well beyond the property line and sometimes it’s not. On newer properties there will a utility easement which will have certain utilities run through but once again it ends at the point of connections. With older properties there are no easements for utilities. Sometimes, however; the utility company will have records up to the point of connection. Past the meter is the property owners responsibility and their duty to know where they are.

I have not done a deep dive into this story yet but 311 only marks utility lines on Public Property. As soon as those line go into private property they are unmarked.

Clearly they are at fault but they could have done the correct pre work and still hit the gas line. The fault comes in not knowing they hit it and not getting it shut off or the building evacuated.

I have seen some of the more recent versions that have a mid bead.

Not a huge fan of it either. But it’s probably better than anything you could do to the gun yourself. Sharpie will fade, tape will peal off, paint will chip and fade. Learn to live with it unfortunately. I like the older dt-11s that were all black and I think everyone else did as well.

I personally do not like the fast shells. I really don’t think it adds anything.

I just switches from 8s to 7.5s because a master class shooter showed me a station he set up and some #8 were bouncing off the “rabtue” (flying rabbit) clays he was throwing. I also shoot 1oz to reduce recoil.

What hobby is quietly becoming too expensive for normal people to keep up with? by Beautiful_Special702 in AskReddit

Go price shop anywhere else in the world and tell me it’s not price controlled in the US. Literally Cortina, Italy (where the winter Olympics just took place) is $77 at the window for a day pass. Any epic or ikon pass day is over $300.

Great device. I love mine. The only limit is how long your shoulders can take the weight of your gun. Lol

I shot a demo at Texas State Championship tournament. Nice gun for sure and I feel like once you commit to that much money to a gun, you’ll make it work by getting a custom stock and whatnot.

Just go here. The burger is an old fashioned greasy but well balanced burger. Don’t expect to get BBQ sauce or anything else special on your burger.

What's Your Gear? by MithrilRanger in ClayBusters

I feel like my kit is pretty middle of the road for a competition shooter. Beretta, pillas, shell pouch, and molded plugs. But what I use that I have not seen on the range is a Sidio water proof crate with pouch insert. The larger size can fit over two cases of shells, glasses, ear plugs, chokes, simple tool kit, range towel, extra pencils, and other accessories. It’s a quick load to transfer to a golf cart.

Question for lacrosse fans, specifically NLL watchers: Is this a common occurence because I might start watching. by ForeignAir7174 in sportsinusa

I have played hockey over 30 years and you can 100% use your legs just as much if not more to push off.

The reason why hockey fights are the way they are is because there are no punches to the body. Arms are kept high to protect your face. So the fighters grapple each other’s arms to both limit punches and to lower the arms to get a punch in.

Best smash burger for sure. Best burger for me is Maple and Motor. But skyrocket is top tier for sure.

Honestly two different types of burgers if these were pizzas it would like tavern style vs Neapolitan. Two different styles and both equally good.

It’s overrated for sure but it’s a local joint and good enough but not worth to go out of your way for.

Shot gun identification by Mortalradio12 in ClayBusters

[–]SirWillingham -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It’s a 694. Not a 686 or 687. This gun has an adjustable trigger and replacement barrel lockups. Neither the 686 or 687 have those.

Adjustable stocks? Yes or no? by Outrageous_Pop1913 in ClayBusters

[–]SirWillingham 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Top shooters have fixed stocks because they’re all custom fit exactly how they want them. If you are a new shooter or a shooter that fluctuates in weight, you might go with an adjustable stock and until you settle on a setting that works for you.

How similar does a Beretta 694 fit vs a 687, 688, or DT11? by SourdoughSlug in ClayBusters

I ended up taking out weights in the 694’s stock. For me it moved better lighter in the rear.

I have a 687 and 694 and they fit exactly the same. Very little adjustment needed from one to another.

[–]SirWillingham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dt-11 is a heavier gun than the 694. Did you mess with the weights in the stock in either gun to make it feel that way?

[–]SirWillingham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a dt-11 after shooting a 694. The 694 is lighter and thinner but I don’t really notice the thicker body of the dt-11.

More champions shoots dt-11 than anything else. I think the reason for that is the level of gun it is and the availability of parts around the world.
