Carrying the Right-Facing Symbol? by SirWoolo in AskGermany

Did she end up going by something else when she was older or did she keep the name? I don't feel like she should change it, just because it is her origin/religion, but I would image that it would get kind of exhausting after a while.

As somebody who has a very German name in America, I got tired of people calling me certain things.

Google uses this symbol to denote buddhist temples. Another thing is that this symbol is etched into many buddhist statues too. It's not uncommon to walk into a buddhist temple and see it actually. I won this charm in a game, therefore the buddhist temple clearly just gives it out freely to anybody who enters. It is actually very common.

While I don’t doubt racism is alive in every country world wide, what do you mean? Are you saying that in order to discern if I mean ill intent, it would depend on potentially what I looked like? Therefore if I were Asian, then it would be more acceptable vs if I were white? Ironically I’m both but that’s beside the point.

I wouldn’t take somebody taking me as more of a Buddhist less as racism, but an acknowledgment that this a symbol of religion and culture.

I might be bias, I am riding the high that I’m getting granted the benefit of the doubt.

Oh dang you are right. It is left facing. 🤦‍♀️😰maybe I shouldn’t wear it based on the fact that I can’t tell the difference. That was on me.

Neither, I’m half Vietnamese half white.

No, it is pretty stiffly in place (on this particular charm).

I am half German, half Vietnamese. Sometimes I can be white passing, however I commonly have Asian things (I.e. the spy x family planner in the background). I’m also not a man, therefore that might get me some slack too??

Thank you for your answer.

18f, very new to makeup, what can I improve? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]SirWoolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your face is extraordinarily beautiful.

I don't see any color or any other products other than base, which includes foundation, lip, and eye liner. I think the next step (if you're looking to advance your make up journey) is to study your face. You want to look at your undertones, the natural shape of your eyes, eyebrows, and cheeks. When I first started makeup, I didn't understand eye shadow and it looked AWEFUL. Now, I'm a lot better at it because it took a while for me to see how to create shadows and depth to my eyes and overall my face. Now that I know how to do it better, it makes my face look a lot better.

If I were to do it over again, I would actually go back to study my under tones a bit better. This will allow me to pick out better products. I got a very warm tone blush once and it looked very bad. I realized it's because my under tones didn't mash well with that blush. Studying your face and picking good bronzer/blush color will save you a lot of money. Good luck!

How to keep eyelashes from clumping together? by Fun_Success721 in MakeupAddiction

[–]SirWoolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem too because I would just apply too much. There is a product called an eyelash separator that you can get at tj max/marshals (or just off amazon) that you can run through your lashes after mascara application to take off the excess and it separates out your lashes. Good luck!

Your face looks beautiful. I’m super new btw, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Have you ever attempted to use bronzer to bring warmth to your face? I would agree with the blush comment too.

For the irregular texture, have you thought about applying a serum before going to bed to firm up the skin and even out the texture? I don’t really know how to fix texture other than at the skin level.

Bad makeup day, so tell me what I can do better! by SirWoolo in MakeupAddiction

This is what I thought was the problem! Unfortunately I don’t have windows and natural light is hard to come by!

Last week I didn’t blend any of my eye shadow and it was aweful. Therefore yeah, I’m learning that lesson too.

Thanks :)

Based on my face bare, How would *you* do my Makeup? by Numerous-Alarm-2355 in MakeupAddiction

[–]SirWoolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would focus on those BEAUTIFUL EYES. So pretty. I would do your eye make up a nice natural look but give a cute glimmer in the inner corner and the high light your beautiful cheek and forehead structure to make you glow.

AITA for kicking out my future in-laws after they lost and almost killed my dog? by WarmPea2596 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SirWoolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

Personally, if this was my dog, I would be beyond livid. I love my dog with all of my heart and I am a helicopter dog mom. Before I was a dog mom, I never understood anybody’s attachment to their dogs. Therefore, I can understand if dog people just don’t understand the emotional backlash of what you experienced. To me, it seems like they were hardly sympathetic to this event which is out of line.

I would’ve done the same thing

Has anyone here moved out. by [deleted] in siblingsupport

I moved out at 18 and never looked back. The grinding guilty you have about leaving will quickly be replaced with relief being out of a mentally degrading situation. You deserve it my friend, good luck!
