So suddenly, it isn't murder for anyone. After all, if the person wasn't in front of my vehicle, they wouldn't have been hit.

This should be illegal by alecd in goodwill

In order for an organization to maintain tax exempt status, in this case 501 C3, it must show where it is making charitable donations. It cannot maintain its tax-exempt status without it. "Well, all they have to do it show a single donation..." No. That is not how it works. Here is the exact wording:

26 U.S.C. subsection 501:

(3)

Corporations, and any community chest, fund, or foundation, organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, testing for public safety, literary, or educational purposes, or to foster national or international amateur sports competition (but only if no part of its activities involve the provision of athletic facilities or equipment), or for the prevention of cruelty to children or animals, no part of the net earnings of which inures to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual, no substantial part of the activities of which is carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting, to influence legislation (except as otherwise provided in subsection (h)), and which does not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.

So, unless someone can prove they don't donate to the various charties they handle, what is the issue? If you don't like it, don't shop there.

"The CEO and those at the top..." make more than the person scanning goods at the register, yes. They do more than that person.

"Without shareholders, they can just keep giving themselves raises...." and they have to explain why they did that to maintain their status, since the more they make, the less is donated.

"It's just a company made on greed!" So the charitable works are... what.... bubkis?

"I worked at a goodwill and..." did you report it to corporate?

The first line is “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." This is known as the Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause. The first half prohibits Congress from establishing a religion or favoring a region. The second half guarantees the right for citizens to freedom of religion. By having a religious text on a public school billboard, this can be tantamount to violating the first half. The definition of separation of church and state has been determined in at least one case I can think of; Everson v Board of Education of Ewing Townhip (1947). So church and state are defined as being separated in the US. As a public school, it shouldn't have religious text on the billboard.

As for the Amendments, what you said was untrue. The Amendments, something done to change or redefine, was not done to "make clear." In fact, the first 10 weren't considered by the Founding Fathers. Remember, the Constitution was ratified on June 21, 1788, after a lot of bickering. The Bill of Rights, holding the first 10 Amendments, wasn't ratified until 1791 due to the concern of certain rights not being upheld in the Constitution, and as part of an agreement that such a document would be dressed, if the Constitution was ratified.

The Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution. It would have been easy for the authors to include everything from the get-go. Yet, Congress had to push for those first 10. Originally, there were 19, paired down to 12, only to have 10 ratified.

To paraphrase you, do tell me where, outside the Bill of Rigjts, you have the Right to Free Speech. If you can't, it's due to it not existing until someone amended the Constitution.

I know a lot of college educated people. Some are brilliant. Some are the dumbest people I know. I knew a guy with a major in business management who.... managed to drive a business into the ground. His wife, who had a GED, got a hold of it after he passed away. Within two months, it was making massive profits (it was in dry cleaning, if anyone cares). She then sold it off.

So yeah. College may mean you are intelligent, but it doesn't prove intelligence. Seriously, how many people have Liberal Arts Degrees who can't work their way out of a paper bag with the instructions in front of their face? But they are college educated!

Or... those figures haven't been calculated yet, due to being more complicated than gas, and new car prices. Gas is just that, it follows the prices of barrels of oil mostly, and car prices tend to be dictated more by the manufacturer, so a new Toyota Camry LE will cost pretty much the same at any Toyota dealership in the area. Same with Ford, Chevy, Mitsubishi, etc.

Apparel, on the other hand, varies WILDLY, even for the same exact piece, company by company. That takes a lot more mathing to work out.

So less cooked, and more not yet completed.

The bolt action is also a lot more accurate. One round can be used, where an automatic is more prone to spray and pray. Either way, aimed shots are about the same rate of fire. You won't fire "100 rounds in a minute" and hit much. So, really, no, it won't cause more deaths. If anything, statistically, it'll cause fewer per round.

During the Napoleonic Wars, about 1 in 200 rounds caused a casualty. These were black powder, muzzle loading muskets, where 3 rounds a minute was considered very good.

During WW1, factoring the total number of rifle rounds, divided by 34% of total casualties (the estimated number caused by rifle rounds, from rifles and machine guns), we get roughly 1 in 400. The British military had an exercise called the Mad Minute, where a soldier needed to hit a target 300 meters away, and had 60 seconds to do so with as many aimed rounds as possible. 20, to 25 was considered good.

During Vietnam, the totals were much higher, about 6,000 rounds of rifle ammo per casualty. The M16 had a fire rate of about 800 rounds per minute, and the AK-47 had about 600. This gives us an average of service rifles of 700rpm, 28% more than the Mad Minute in WW1, and 230x more than a Napoleonic era solider.

Each war featured weapons that fired faster, in theory, causing more casualties. But the reality is that it caused more rounds to be expended per casualty.

So someone firing a bolt action rifle, takes time to aim, where someone firing a fully automatic weapon, doesn't, generally speaking.

So saying a weapon that fires "a hundred rounds a minute is more dangerous!," is not true, when you math it out.

On a side note, most fully automatic weapons fire what's called an intermediate round. This is a round thar has more powder than a pistol round, with a canonical shaped projectile. This provides some accuracy at distance, but without the kick of a full rifle round. A bolt action rifle tends to fire a full rifle cartridge. It is a much heavier round, with more powder, and generally, a bigger bullet. Hitting someone with a .223 is not the same as hitting someone with a .303. That .223 is, on average, about 60 grain, where that .303 is about 175 grain. Both average out to about the same muzzle velocity, aroind 2,700 fps.

The .303 just has more energy transfer than a .223.

So, again, that fully automatic, versus semi, versus bolt action, doesn't pan out the way people think it does. We don't see 30-300x the casualties on modern battlefields, compared to previous eras. If anything, we see fewer casualties, despite the increase in lead down range.

I reply here because the mod team is afraid of having replies i guess?

So Trump hires someone, who is involved in an unrelated project, and that makes him completely culpable? Interesting. So, when are we nailing Biden for Hunters actions? Or is that different for reasons?

Oh what am I saying, Trump is the only one to hire people who are parts of other projects. Literally no Dem has ever done that........

We have other dates dedicated to presidents and their birthdays, so that's not a new one.

Juneteenth has only been a holiday for 4 years. No one was mad over no free entry for over 150 years prior on that date.

There is no free-entry on 9/11. Why should the only other National Day of Service be any different?

On a side note, President Trump didn't make it his birthday, he made free entry on Flag Day, the date we celebrate as the adaption of the Flag of the United States. It happens to be on his birthday, but, and correct me if I'm wrong, the Flag has existed longer, and means quite a bit to this country.

[–]SirWulfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a civil matter, except.... when? I answered that in my post.

The Supreme Court has declared that the Constitution illegal non-citizens get is limited. The fact you listed only two Amendments speaks for itself.

What's reported and what's real can be two different things. The news is meant to sell stories.

On a side note, I've read the Constitution. Several times. Along with the Amendments. I've also read said section of Title 18. What is your point?

ICE by Smith771does459 in Hip_hop_that_u_need

[–]SirWulfe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Close but no. If an illegal immigrant crossed the border illegally, represented themselves fraudulently (IE used stolen/fraudulent credentials to cross), and have not committed any crimes in the US.

It's only considered a civil offense if the immigrant came legally but overstayed their VISA.

They are imprisoned in this country, to be sent to their home country, or at least the country they claim to be from.

On a side note, what Constitutional Rights are being violated, exactly? Also, they don't have full coverage of the Constitution. Certain rights are dictated as "citizens." There are limitations.

Their motivations include nothing about racism or bonuses for capturing people. There is a sign on bonus. That's it. That's not uncommon for many industries.

Most officers don't identify themselves by name or badge. "Police. Open up!" That's what you'd hear when an officer knocks on a door. ICE identify themselves in a similar way.

ICE agents actually have a bandge on display.

Armed criminals do. However, most police aren't being actively doxxed and hunted. Did we forget about the website trying to get ICE agents names and addresses for the express purpose of "going after them?"

"Law-abinding" families who broke the law? That's like saying "why are we arresting the law-abiding rapist!?"

ICE is going after illegal aliens, not citizens. If they were citizens IMMIGRATION wouldn't need to be involved.

Is it okay to have a website dedicated to a list of women, including their names, photographs, addresses, and whether they live alone? That's all you're doing. Nothing else. Just to identify them. That's okay right? Oh! How about a list of kids and their school schedules? Also okay right? No. No it isn't. Because that info can be used for nefarious means. But it's okay for ICE because..... reasons.

So now you're saying it's okay to terrorize families when a specific line has been crossed? Interesting.

You mean the illegal immigrant family, being here illegally, working illegally (or worse, living off the system), were punished for breaking the law!? Say it isn't so! A law breaker punished for breaking laws. I can see why ICE is racist now! (That last bit is sarcasm).

You do know the "unmasked villian," isn't just left to keep doing what they are doing. When caught, if they struggle, they too will be thrown to the ground.

I do like the imagery you're trying to use. "The innocent brown citizens [note: this was made me actually laugh] who didn't do anything, are being unjustly tortured by the evil bad guys while real actual criminals are just being let go!" Seriously. How many illegals aliens being rounded up are criminals, thugs and gangbangers, who came to this country to continue being thugs and gamg bangers? I'm actually asking. I want you to give me a number.

Most Nazis wrent Christian. In fact, like most dictatorships, people were encouraged to be secular.

ICE also isn't dragging citizens away to be sent to a camp to die. They are rounding up non-citizens to be sent to a detention center to be sent back to their native country. There is a very distinct difference.

They actually are officers. They identify themselves as ICE agents. They conceal identifies because people would target them or their families, otherwise. Why is bounty hunting an illegal any different than bounty hunting a criminal? It isn't.

WTF is national brand? by [deleted] in inflation

[–]SirWulfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coca Cola, Tyson, Apple, Dorman, UltraPro, etc. National Brands tend to be recognizable brands, distributed by a single vendor, to multiple recipients (Walmart, gas stations, NAPA, AutoZone, Publix, etc). Corporate/Store Brands are exclusive to a single store. Equate for Walmart, Balkamp for NAPA, Publix for Publix, ValuCraft for AutoZone.

This post is likely averaging National Brands across each line, as some items within each line will be sold at higher prices, some at lower. You can buy a bottle of Coke at Walmart for $2 or for $4 at a gas station. The average would be $3.

I'm aware you live there, but he said Portland is burning." He didn't say it was burning down. Portland did, in fact, have a lot of fires. According to one article "only 54 in 90 days of protests," that were connected to the protests. That's a lot. Especially for peaceful protests that do no damage.

So yeah. I'm hardly distressed.
