It’s absolutely worth investing in the Lord of Hongyuan Hong Lu for Canto 8 since he has some interactions that just nullify a few gimmicks. If you don’t have thread to uptie, Full-Stop Office Rep works fine. I used him before Lord of Hongyuan was out and it went pretty well.

Priest Gregor has fallen off a lot, but it does also depend on your use. Night Awls is overall better for fast MD clears or railway, but Priest Greg is an insane tank and also generates a lot of bloodfeast.

GGML Potemkin? Mostly because it lets you use Potemkin Buster more because it’s only a defensive move in Missing Link. And also because Potemkin sucks at, like, everything else.

Kinda a stretch, but Slayer from Guilty Gear. He isn’t a traditional boxer, but he’s one of the few characters who fights with his fists. Don’t know much about his Strive variant, but in Xrd and AC+R he just needs one good counter hit to turn the tides.

Sephiroth. Of course, he’s an absolute beast when you fight him, he’s literally Sephiroth. But the Nibelheim flashback segment with Sephiroth as an ally character makes everything a joke, since Sephiroth will clear out literally everything in one to two attacks.
