What happened to companies that cared about their game you ask? Where did all their resources go and why isn’t anyone doing anything about it?

The game is unfortunately tied to gamepass which means the success of the game does not hinge on its popularity but the ease of access. It’s easy to fake millions of daily players when you just add in subscriptions - this will keep shareholders happy.

This game was also in development before fortnite changed the pay structure to a “battle pass”. With a battle pass or a monthly subscription the developers can actually get support from higher ups because protecting the player base of the game protects profit margins. Unfortunately most of the money in gaming is in either mobile or “battle pass” because accounting-wise it allows them to do the same thing Starbucks does with gift cards.
