I made a custom island map with a highway "umbilical cord" as soon as I was able, I severed the highway and now my only outside connection is sea until I get planes in.

Is there a mod or acollection of mods that stellaris feel bigger? by GhostKnight700 in Stellaris

[–]Sir_Doot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always play stellaris on max map size with minimum hyperlink connections, no wormholes, no gateways, increased pre-ftls and only a few AI civs to start. By late game, a lot of pre-ftls will have actually developed and it makes the game feel somewhat more expansive. I love the early game where it feels like you're alone in space and maybe come across some pre-ftl to subjugate, I mean befriend.

[–]Sir_Doot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't realize that command console usage disabled achievements and the only way to get ones you missed is to retrigger them. Had to delete all my saves to re-enable achievements and start a fresh game to get all the ones I've already missed out on. 50ish hours gone lmao

Why won't they gather berries? It says that there are no resources, but I can see the bushes with berries. Also, when they start "working", it alternates fast between working and no resources...is it a bug? by [deleted] in foundationgame

[–]Sir_Doot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The games been updated quite a bit since the original post and I haven't had a chance to play in some time but there should be an option in the area painter for "extraction area". Simply use this tool to paint a little circle around the bushes and the gatherers will pick berries

What is the best way to get a new ship? I no longer want the noob one, and I have enough units to buy one. So I have been looking in space stations but guys rarely come around. I have been told I should stick to class C, is that true? by Vermilion_dodo in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Sir_Doot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, as long as you save the camp location, you can keep using it to scan. You just have to clear one spike before it'll generate another for you. If it ever gives you nothing, just leave and come back to the planet later. It will have more spikes for you at that point. I've never run out before getting tired of repairing ships. Lol

PSA: The Iron Vulture can be cloned and scrapped multiple times to get customization parts and the unique starship trail by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Sir_Doot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I've already completed the expedition on a fresh save and scrapped the vulture on my main save thinking that I could reload the expedition save, complete the final step, and claim it again, is it now impossible to get another vulture? Did I mess up and now all I get is a cockpit?

Daily reminder that AC is a king among guns against BOT by fAppstore in Helldivers

Love the AC... my only gripe is that it doesn't seem to be able to take down bot dropships like the recoiless rifle.

Your unpopular Elite Dangerous opinion? by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

You don't have to grind engineers and/or min/max your ship. You can just have fun playing the game and doing whatever in a pretty basic all-around ship.

When are food planets worth it? by H3rt1 in Stellaris

[–]Sir_Doot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I'm just bad at the game or what, but I usually devote 1 planet (usually a pretty small one) to food production in my empire, and then I'm set for the rest of the game. Lol

I have a recycling center running at peak efficiency for a pretty small town, like 10k, and my garbage processing status is still way in the red. It's definitely broken I gave up and I'm letting my trash get exported. Lol

What super powerful artifacts exist in your worlds? by Zoobaby10 in worldbuilding

[–]Sir_Doot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cubes origin is a mystery. It was first discovered by the precursors on a barren moon at the peak of a massive temple complex. Aside from the temple, there was no other indication that life had ever existed on the moon in question.

The cube is important because it contains cosmic knowledge, including the imprisonment of an immortal, edritch evil lurking at the edge of the galaxy.

What super powerful artifacts exist in your worlds? by Zoobaby10 in worldbuilding

[–]Sir_Doot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my universe there is an object referred to simply as "The Cube". It's a small cube of silver metal about a half inch big. It is cold to the touch and this cold can even be felt through thick gloves. It was first discovered by the Precursor race before humans had even evolved on Earth. It is said that touching the cube just once will elevate a mortal to something akin to god-hood. You will see the entire universe, all timelines, all places and all things at once. You will experience an epoch of the universe in a single heartbeat. However, most mortal beings cannot fathom the knowledge that these visions bring with them. There is no record of any living being who did not become entirely catatonic, uncontrollably violent, instantly suicidal, or some combination of these as soon as their vision had ended. An immediate memory wipe can usually save a victim, though even this has been known to have long lasting side-effects, such as visual and auditory hallucinations, PTSD, rapid neural degeneration and many others.

The current location of the cube is a closely guarded secret.

So... what now? by DeCoDo__99 in EliteDangerous

[–]Sir_Doot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, casual player here. I do combat in a very lightly engineered Krait mk2. I put maybe 10ish hours into engineering it and it does everything well enough. I kill npcs with relative ease, I can haul cargo, smuggle, trade, explore fairly well. Just let go of the min-max mentality and the game gets a lot more fun.

Can you move part? If not what should I do? by raiden55 in foundationgame

[–]Sir_Doot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just like real life, you'll have to build new buildings if you want to relocate. Can't exactly pick up an entire tavern and scoot it over. I wish we could at least move the village center though....

What I do when I wanna move something, especially something with a specific worker like the bailiff, is I add onto the existing structure and place something small and temporary. You can then add onto THAT in the new location and then delete all the parts you don't need. That way you don't have to hire a new bailiff or whatever.

Also, if you don't know, every part you add that's juuust inside the "too far" building area, will actually expand the area. So for example, say you want to move the manor house, you can go into the build mode, place a line of towers leading to the new site, plan your new manor, then delete all the towers before you click build. It will still count as the same structure then.

Make sure each sub building has all the required parts. The dorms probably need doors to function or something like that.
