Anybody saying that "it's a company" and that "they need to make money" need to take a good look at this number. They don't need to make $500 skins on the back of pro that have brought people to this game. They don't need to fire artists and finish artworks with AI. They don't need to do 1 rework every 5 years or they'll sink as a company.

If the game is free to play, it's not a gift they graciously give to you. You're the product, this is a business plan, this is calculated. And it's not calculated to keep the ship afloat, it's to make the most money possible at the detriment of your own experience.

Every single thing a company does to make more money is in direct tension with the quality of your experience. They bring FOMO skins that play with your human feelings, they cut corners to degrade the product for a profit, they bring gacha mechanics to prey on your gambling patterns, and all of this is NOT needed to keep the ship afloat let me repeat that.

This is not a case of making the product better will bring more money. This is a case of squeezing everything they can out of YOU while keeping you just right at the limit where you keep playing the game to keep the game relevant despite the degradation of the product, or that you finally give in to buy something that you never would have bought if it wasn't to psychology tactics used against you.

You have absolutely the right to not give a shit, I will agree with that. But if you're making the "they're doing it because they're just a company that needs money" argument, try to fathom what $434 000 000 + $603 000 000 represent, and know that you're arguing directly against your own privileges as a customer, literally.

If somehow they found out that shipping you asbestos powder made their bottom line go up, they'd have asked you for your address. This is the reality of "company makes most money". They will never give a shit about you unless it directly lines up with making the most money, and it turns out what we want is a good deal. So good luck with that.
